So I see I'm not the only one who see's this, most of the punches that Papi landed were either blocked well enough so they weren't significant, or Taylor would move his head out the way just in time, so again the punches weren't significant, this is why Taylor was saying that Papi's punches weren't landing, this is also why Taylor was making noises the whole time being extra relaxed, and this is also why Taylor realised he didn't need his headgear.

I loved this spar more than the actual fight they had. I hope we see more sparring footage of influencer boxers in the future. Some of these guys try to "hide" their skills, but really most of them are at such a low level that there wouldn't be much lost in showing certain sparring sessions

To anyone who thinks that Papi beats AT in a rematch, just know that how AT fought in this spar is COMPLETELY different to the style he uses under the lights. AT was continuously giving Papi opportunities to get some work in as opposed to constantly moving his head and shooting for the clinch every 5 seconds. AT still beats Papi.

So apparently this was Taylor's first time back in the gym after his Oct bout. Even then he lands some solid shots, & is actually boxing. Papi needs to work on that inactive high guard, no head slot changes, etc. Taylor needs to stop ducking his head so low especially when his hands are down, and squares up quite often as well.

sparring is always gonna be “better” than the actual fights because u cant hear the impact of the punches in the arena like how u hear the impacts in a tight gym, imagine two killer pro ko artists going full out fight with ill intentions in 10oz gloves inside a tight small gym, shit would be a whole different experience, thats why fighters fight for money, but what sucks is the impacts of the punches end up looking like pillow shots from the crowd view

You’re giving Salt Papi too much credit, and not giving Anthony Taylor enough credit, if this was scored, I thought Taylor would’ve clearly won, landed the much cleaner punches, that combination Salt Papi threw whilst Taylor went to the ropes, nothing landed clean, then in the same round Taylor landed 1 straight right which was cleaner than anything Salt Papi landed during his combination, the problem is that Salt Papi only thinks in the moment, whilst Anthony Taylor can think steps ahead and adjust and figure out your patterns, he was able to predict what Salt Papi was gonna do a lot of the time.

You can now tell why AT fights differently when he is on the big stage. He has many holes in his game and Salt Papi is taking some advantage of them in the spar. Maybe AT is afraid that one of these influencers will land that shot and that's why he always clinches after attacking.

*Salt Papi's Pros* : 1. Creative, finds new combos to land 2. Quick on his reactions 3. Lands fairly accurately compared to most Influencer boxers 4. Goes for powerful punches almost at all times 5. Doesn't telegraph shots nearly as much as others on the scene and is fast to respond to an attack. *Salt Papi's Cons* : 1. His gas tank needs a lot of work. Endurance wise, he's good for 2-3 rounds. After that, his defense effort drops significantly, given he had any decent defense to start with. 2. He lacks defensive-wise and focuses on his reaction speed to dodge with head movement. There's no much blocking or pairing on his fighting style. 3. His greediness and "aggressiveness" makes him more vulnerable than necessary. Runs into shots and is in danger a lot of times because he's with his feet in the air, jumping forward. 4. Lacks the "tester" jab to annoy and measure his opponent. He focuses mostly on surprise attacks, even with his lead hand to catch his opponent off guard, but it doesn't work that many times against the same opponent. I don't really care about Anthony Taylor, I despise his boxing style, he's one dimensional and has a great chin. However, I gotta give him his props, cause he actually boxed for once in his lifetime and landed some good combinations.

You can pause and slomo on pretty much any punch you think Papi landed, and you will see that it didn't actually land clean. Good spar by both as they're both getting in work, but yeah Papi wasn't in this as much as some people think, Taylor was in control of most of it.
