SALT SPRINGS FLORIDA CAMPGROUND REVIEW

We visit Salt Springs Recreation Area in the Ocala National Forest near Ocala, Florida. WATCH THIS! What to do in Florida! We had a great time getting to snorkel above and below the clear water. The 2nd magnitude mineral spring has potassium, magnesium, and sodium, and is touted as the Fountain of Youth! What a great campground with full hook ups and shaded campsites. The park is enjoyed by not only the campers, but it is also a day use park as well with lots of picnic tables and a gift shop. We highly recommend this gem.

We loved our time at Salt Springs. We were there back when all the state campgrounds closed down. I loved that squirrel. Did you get your Florida state park passport book stamped? We could only get a signal at the bath house 🤣. They are one of the few I’ve seen with RV parking. Down the road is a boat ramp not owned or connected to the park. It is a huge spring. Lots of great history there. We saw blue crab and bass when we were there. And it was sooo crowded when we were there. Glad you had a great time. All the springs in Florida are awesome. Alice

That is truly one of the most gorgeous campgrounds we've seen. We're just in awe of that clear spring water. We could swim all day long in that temperature. Really nice review Brad and Diana. We're about to go camping next week, so this video is gettin' us in the mood. New friends here :)

Too fancy for me, I am more into boondocking. We have not been out this year and have our 17-foot trailer at our Grandkids house in Nova Scotia. They are under quarantine again as they caught a cold and are waiting for a test to prove it is not COVID19 so they can go back to work and school. 72 degrees year-round. That is nice... We mooch dock at our son's house in South Carolina when we go to visit him, so we can see our grandkids up there. We feel we need the full hookups in Florida because it is so hot in the summer.

Florida has so many beautiful springs. We haven't been to this park yet, just stayed at Blue Springs on the way out of Florida recently. I guess perhaps we passed each other at some point. We love Salt Springs. We always liked being the first ones in the water until a guy got eaten by an alligator at Blue Springs state park. He was the first person in the water. Now we do alligator checks before getting in and let a few people get in before us. That is why State parks put up the beware of alligator signs. We will be going to Salt springs for new years. Can't wait very nice park. I always wonder how fast I can climb that tall concrete wall they have around the spring if an alligator swims into the spring.

Brad considers alligators to be like sharks LOL you can swim for years and never see one. That being said, that would be very scary for sure. I guess just look before you leap; it has great visibility... here we were just really hoping to see an otter LOL Thanks for the great comment. ~ Brad and Diana

@@ItsAboutTimeNow Just take a ride down Salt springs run. You will see a lot of wild life otters, manatees, alligators, turtles and a lot of birds. Very beautiful run.
