I do prefer going to Salt & Straw in person, as we have a few stores locally in Seattle and you can get tasting flights. That's way more fun, especially when they're doing collaborations! (Though I miss the now-closed Wiz Bang Bar, their Portland only soft serve shop, their elderflower soft serve was so delicate.)

@@IceCreamScoops Oh! You'll have so much fun! Like Seattle has SO many good ice cream places too! There's Sweet Alchemy and Parfait and Bluebird and Molly Moon's, I'm always amazed at how many options we have! (Molly Moon's may be polarizing, but they have ice cream cakes and it's awesome! So does Sweet Alchemy actually, just different styles!) No shame to Portland, they've got epic ice cream, just so do we.

@@DessertGeek this is great to hear! My husband and I try to hit one foreign country and at least one US city a year. Northwest is the top of my list - now even more so knowing I have all this to look forward to. Ice cream every day? I think so!

Hey! So I’m the one (hardcore ice cream fan) who recommended you try s&s about a year ago, I’m a fan of their scoop shop in LA. However, if you’re going to splurge and get online deliveries, I’d love to share my favorites 😊 Van Leeuwen’s praline butter cake and hazelnut fudge cookie. Creamalicious sweet potato pie and banana pudding (amazing). McConnels sea salt cream and cookies, and dairy free PB & crunch. Tipsy Scoop (pricy) chocolate whiskey salted caramel. Also, quick suggestion as a digital marketer… add the words ‘taste test’ to your video titles, like, (brand) Ice Cream Review and Taste Test - (flavor name). It helps the algorithm recommend you videos by search keywords! And use the 3 hashtags, with words like #icecream #tastetest #foodreview or similar. Happy Holidays!

Marni!! Yesss thank you for the recommendations. I have a few pints of the weirder flavors from Van Leeuwen in my freezer (and one video review already filmed that I haven’t released yet…). Definitely going to check out those flavors, they’re local to me and easy to come by. I’ve had a couple of McConnels but not those! And I’ve never heard of Creamalicious or Tipsy Scoop so I’ll definitely be looking into them. Really appreciate your suggestion for video titles too. I love marketing as a concept but have no experience with it, and can never really figure out what the algorithm wants. I’ll try these and see how they work out. Happy holidays! Gotta say your comment made me take a second look at the numbers. I could have sworn when I placed my S&S order that after shipping it was $98. But shipping was included, and a Jeni’s order of the same number of pints plus shipping is only about $10 less. Also good to know you can get them much cheaper in stores. I had this flavor again in a cone on Saturday and it was really good. With all of that in mind I think I’d bump this up to a 7. Thanks for keeping me honest!
