Saltfish fritters were the very first Caribbean food I ever ate, in my friend's home in Nottingham in 1971. His parents came from Jamaica in the 50's, and his mum was a great cook. I have to give these Trini accras a try now!

That might have been the first thing I cooked with my group in my secondary school days during food and Nutrition practical. Somewhere along the way, because I don't think any group member paid close attention to the recipe, we realized that saltfish fritters were actually accra .lol. IKR? Most call it accra or fish cakes in my country.

Excellent video. The ingredients are very delicious and pleasing to the eye. Nuff respect. Glad you stated that we all do it differently and can still respect and honor your Trini traditions. Big up yuhself...🇯🇲🇺🇸 from a Jamerican.

Love your videos. That was awesome. I love learning how to make all this food that I miss so much that my mom used to make back in the day when she was still alive. I have and idea how to make them, but every time I try, it never comes out the same. So now I am starting to see all the little missing steps that I need to get the great end results that you do. Thank you so much for the videos and the information.

The kind I grew up eating had a crisp on the outside and slight chewyness on the inside. Will this recipe produce the same effect? The chewyness is important.
@annmarcano-martin94 жыл бұрын
It was definitely crispy on the outside and moist and soft on the inside.... I don't know if I'll say 'chewy'.... Maybe that will be your opinion. Either way, you should try it out.
@sheeasmr79703 жыл бұрын
I concur on the chewyness. Sounds like a grenadian fish cake. Crispy outside, chewy inside. My mom does not use yeast in hers and she makes them somewhat flat.
