Not at all surprised. I remember when Motorcycle magazine did a torture test on one of these when they finally went to liquid cooling in the early 90's. It went 24 hours at WOT, then the engine was disassembled to see what, if anything, broke or wore out. The GSXR had NO discernible wear on any of its internals, even after running 24 hours at max rpm. Their metallurgy would only have improved since then...

Anything with an engine: keep up with maintenance, and you'll be surprised how long it'll last. Unless it's a Chevy Cruize or a Kia GDI motor. lol. "Radiator fluid" (aka coolant) and brake fluid will last a pretty long time (60K miles easy) as long as you don't boil either and change it before it turns completely brown. Every long term high mileage review will tell you the same - keep up with maintenance and all will be good. Basic oil changes are no reason to skip. At least spraying the chain down isn't to bad even with out a stand. Anything else though, if you aren't comfortable - take it to a shop. Not exactly something you want to screw up on a bike, as your safety buffer is a lot less than a car.

Bought my 15 with 4k miles. Up to 16k in one year without any hiccups. Turn the key and shes ready to go. My friends 636 was at 50k miles. 1st gear was gone, second was going out, leaked half a quart a day, oil smoke out the exhaust, and 2 frame cracks re-welded. Let's just say you can't expect many bikes to be the one-of-a-kind gem the 750 is. Especially motor-wise.

It really amazes me when a bike has only 80000 miles on it , that’s really nothing. My Cf moto 650 has 96000 klms on it. Toured the breadth of Australia in 2020. Nothing has gone wrong, brake pads changed once and apart from oil changes nothing else has been touched. And it’s been thrashed to within a inch of its life. Never crashed.
@SALTxTHExWOUND8 ай бұрын
Very impressive! I think the biggest reason you don’t see many motorcycles with a ton of miles on them is people don’t ride them as often as we drive vehicles. That and weather play a big role. There’s a Honda F4i on KZbin with over 200k on it
@603mike8 ай бұрын
That’s only 59651 miles, not much work for a twin that doesn’t rev that high compared to a 600 supersport. Seen plenty of twins with higher mileage. I’ve seen RSV4s with 40000 miles which is even more surprising.
@kevinhorne4298 ай бұрын
@@603mike Point is that I don’t see 96000 klms as anywhere near high mileage. It’s now done a further 4300 is on it after doing Melbourne to Adelaide twice last month cruising at 80 mph if l thought l could get away with it at around 300 or so miles at a time. It makes me laugh when in the UK 20000 is usually considered high mileage, that’s break in if properly looked after .
