YOU ARE THE BEST AT EXPLAINING THIS!!!!! I have watched about 6 videos and could not get this. You have explained this the BEST WAY! I am a brand new dancer. Age 65 and taking ballet for exercise because I love it. I just subscribed to your channel. I will be watching more. Thank You!

My teacher didn't explain the up/down and the arm movement especially. This helped. Thank you!

We are dancing a small choreography with my class, that includes balances. I'm sure I will do much better now that everything is clarified in my mind! Thank you!

this really was *super* helpful! I was adding the extra, nonexistent upbeat in between

This was so helpful! I loved this move as a kid because it felt so effortlessly graceful but had completely forgotten the name!

The way you included how the movements fit the the waltz count was very helpful.

Sometimes my teacher uses a pas de cheval when beginning balancés from fifth, to make them look nicer/fancier. I'm super jealous of all your cotton 3/4 sleeve pinch front leos. It's literally the style that suits my body the best. I love the look of them. They aren't the easiest to find these days. At least not in varying brands and with low backs. I tend to find them a lot of the time with high backs and I'm like, "Eff that! I have a tattoo to show off!"
@SaltySugarPlum5 жыл бұрын
yeah I've heard they're hard to find. almost all my leotards are hand-me-down from my mom when she did ballet. I have the good old stuff :P

Thank you for this lovely tutorial, it was extremely helpful. It cleared up a lot! I had one idea though - if the words on the screen were to appear to the side? Smaller and somewhere away from you? So that we can see everything you are doing more clearly! Love.
@SaltySugarPlum4 жыл бұрын
agree about the words being off to the side. I'm using a very primitive version of iMovie that doesnt allow me to move the text exactly where I want. it's pretty limiting, but maybe I can try to use a different movie editor and see if I have any luck!
@esstown4 жыл бұрын
Oh my goodness - that sounds like a lot of trouble! Maybe putting the words on before the demo might be okay or edit in a repeat demo without words? I hope you're doing great, your tutorials are amazing.

What is B+ position? Never heard of positions in letters, only numbers. Thanks x
@esstown4 жыл бұрын
B plus is a common pet name for croisse derriere en attitude a terre. Can also be done efface - as in swan lake, Mariinsky version where all the corps swans are standing in a couple lines. The knees should touch, the angle of the attitude is same as it would be en l'aire, and it looks stunning with a good turnout.
