In Russia we call elm "Karagach" and it's the most popular wood specie in slab table industry. We have also two other names for elm: "Vyaz", "Elm". More interesting part is that lots of people heard about "karagach" slabs and "vyaz" wood but they don't know that it's the same wood specie.

And I get a need for cleaning my windows every week (instead of 1-2 times a year), and instead of having a great time with a golden sword-fight (2 useless sticks from the forest for most dull adults) with my neighbor's 8 year old son, with all the sounds like from an old Chinese Karate movie or build very long high-speed track for small cars from old water pipes, etc. On my 50th birthday, my ex and best friend gave me a new DeWalt drill and driver set as he knew I would say this to fx a Diamant ring: "You know I have a good glass cutter and why pay more than 10 dollars for new one? "best possible gift for the givaway" - hmm very subjective, for new makers your time and advice would be invaluable, for fans of your work whom are not makers; an art piece, and for more advanced makers maybe a bit of interesting wood to make something with or possibly for overseas an agreement to pay for something maker related they can use? For the haters, let me help you out here Cam, there's a simple mantra you can say to all the haters, on whichever side they are on "when YOU are the one doing the work, then YOU can make the decisions - but as it's ME doing the work, then I will make the decisions - if you don't like that, there are plenty of other YT channels for you to "go get your hate on" elsewhere" (and I would personally add - "so you can GTFO" - but you're probably nicer than I am to haters) Edit - you're welcome for the nylon brushes idea (would have been great to get a shoutout if it was me who gave the idea first - not that I'm needy or anything... just, y'know woulda been cool n all...) Oh and instead of calling it "Elm" - how about "Ulmus wood" - that's the Latin genus identification.

We do not see much elm here on the east coast, Dutch elm disease got them all over 30 years ago, did not have my own saw mill to make stock with then, but with the Ash almost gone now, I did get some, ash coffee table almost a lude as yours, not as head on, no one has noticed it before I mentioned it, but everyone agrees. Thank you for the effort producing these, you seem to have the answers to so many of my problems, which I conveniently find 2 days after I had them

I’ve watched several of your videos… actually have learned a lot. I will never understand the need to satisfy everyone. If I ever start a KZbin channel. I guess if they don’t like what I say or do they can keep scrolling…. Love your content brotha. Keep it up.

I appreciate your commentary and how you explain the process of what you are doing. I also must admit to liking your childish sense of humor, don't stop. Great work, I really enjoy your videos.

I don’t mind your talking on the video. I cling to your every word. I find it informative and entertaining. Keep talking.

I think your sense of humor is awesome as hell. I’d say the ones criticizing you for it, are the ones that spend $10K on a bookend. Not one of your creations that are bookend tables, no no. I mean the things used to keep books standing up when there aren’t enough to go from one side to the other on a bookshelf.

I do not think you talk too much. What you share is valuable information. Best wishes for the New Year and beyond.

I have simple/traditional tastes, and I think this one is a home run. Slab is spectacular and legs/base matches beautifully and has just the right amount of flair.

My only experience with epoxy is a pendant and Keychain , I made with my 32 yr. Olds son ashes. Now I worry of the cheap base metal but I'm living with him blessing my heart for now.

I can’t imagine not watching the whole video. You make your epoxy work look so easy. Here in Ga, with our humidity and heat, I struggled when building a boat. A wooden boat requires a lot of epoxy. I enjoy these videos.

A visit to the shop. Love the way the maple finished out around the crack. Looked like a river that was kissed by the sun. Great work and God Bless.

It's mesmerizing how you bring wood slabs to beautiful works of art. Before the end of the second video, I knew I'd never do half the work you do on a single piece. I'm still hooked. The best prize (for me) is watching the process. Also enjoy your humor. ❤

Best possible gift for the subscriber? In my opinion, it would be a thickness planer. And in this video you mentioned that there was a lot of unhappiness with your comments related to the previous video with the natural opening and it's resemblance to the female anatomy. I want to say that I found your humour clever and refreshing. It made me smile when I was watching. It shows your genuine personality. Never apologize for that. Let the haters hate. Keep up the great work. I love the videos.

No one is asking those who don’t like what you do with the wood to purchase the piece! I love what you do!
