My Range Rover rotted in all the same places under the Bonet especially around wheel arch/bulkhead. It’s a very common problem. Yours is far better shape than my one was. It looks like new now. But with your attention to detail yours is going to look fantastic. The next owner is going to have a really solid motor. Absolutely love your attitude towards this restoration.

Headlining! ...I did my own on my Discovery 2. I have 3 rows of air con, 3 lights and and the cargo net pockets fitted too. The old foam came off well. A lot of the screws were brittle so I replaced those. The 3M spray adhesive needs to almost dry before the new foam back head liner goes on. I think you can also buy a paint on version. Work from the middle out the edge lifting to get rid of any air pockets. A bit like wallpaper. I let it dry fully for 2 days before cutting open the holes for the air con vents and lights. I glued those flaps back with a hot glue gun. It's been up 7 years now and some has come down a little in the recess for where the rear sun roof would have been if I had sunroofs. I suspect I did not put enough glue in that bit. Quite a few videos on here on how it's done.

I’ve done four roof liners before. It’s a fairly easily job. A light sanding of the old foam. A few cans of 3M headliner adhesive, and line the backerboard. Cut out the slots. It’s a rewarding job, adds value and looks great. Keep up the great work on this classic Land Rover! Cheers from South Carolina in the States!

I replaced the headlining on my Mk3 Cavalier, I used acoustic carpet which is fairly thick and upholstery glue to secure it. It came out really well and lasted for the 5 years that I owned the car. It also made the inside of the car much quieter.

Great job Rob. It may be worth taking out the dash so when you weld, there is nothing behind that can catch. Plus you can get all the loom right out of the way. There are many re-trimmers that would sort the roof. I use one In Aylesford and there work is first class and reasonable. They can also match the colour on torn leather if you need it. Great content.
