Another eye opener Rob and Chris these rare metals are worth sending all the way to America!!! You lads are the only people in this field of You Tube that bother to show this side of the motor trade, and it is so refreshing for me anyway, even at my age, to see how things are done, Thank you, it is a privilege that I for one enjoy.

You were driving through my neck of the woods 😁 thats good to know that emr buy that stuff for more money. I scrapped 8 car batteries at a local scrapyard and got £70 for them after being offered £4 each by the local scrap man. Does make you wonder how much they were really worth. Yeah. But ways to beat these toerags include never parking on a dodgy street, or running a whip with very low ground clearance (Citroen XM?), or using a car with underbody cover panels which make the cats impossible to get at unless the motor is up on a lift.

The precious metal concentration is far lower on a filter than a regular diesel oxidation catalyst. That, and extracting the metal from the support/substrate is less efficient. Bigger ain't necessarily better. Oh, and early Peugeot/ Citroën ones had no precious metals at all!
