Hi Chris and Rob, IMHO the reason you guys are successful is that you’re both genuine and you do things you both love! So when Chris and yourself go out and treat yourselves to something (a lawnmower, pick up, Reliant or anything else) it’s because YOU like it and not just channel content….however it’s because viewers love what you do it’s the reason we tune in…you don’t need to see what we want, for me, it’s you guys I tune in for and what you work on is a bonus!

This is great, I knew Chris would buy this and I am glad he did, it's great to have this on the channel, it's an early Ant, I do remember our local Council having a couple of these in the early 80s for the parks and gardens as pick ups for moving plants, tools garden rubbish and the like. My mate,s Dad served his time with Reliant and that little engine was Reliant,s own and a surprisingly good little motor of 850cc used across the Reliant range apart from the Scimitar of course. I am going with the idea of a bike transporter doubling as a parts carrier maybe and would be great period sign written for advertising the business, good luck with it, it's fantastic
@williamwales66192 жыл бұрын
Never any doubt about which "vehicle" Chris was going to take/purchase. Chris said he goes back to 1970.I go back a wee bit futrher than that. Used to see these in abundance at Glasgow Central station and at my Local big bakery . I knew them as shunters moving all the stuff round off the Mail Trains. They were pretty common in the 1960/70s. No seen one for many a year.. Be good to see it running about again.

Hi. I've just been looking at the you have got with the Range Rover Sport I've seen that you have got RPM on the diagnosis but no pulse up to the injector's and no fuel pressure up to the rail from the pump did you check the to see if the camshaft sensor has a feed and switching if not then the ECU won't pulse the injector's and won't open the pump fuel pressure to the common Rai line's. Hope this helps if you still have the problem once you have fitted the new pump The SDD diagnostic software might be the way to go. Geoff Toole

If the blue is the original colour I strongly suspect that it was a Reading Borough Council vehicle, the JH in the registration number corresponding to Reading would lend credence to this. A nice little dropside body with hardwood boarding would be perfect for it.

Love it. Knowing you both like coffee, what about one of those conversions into a coffee van. One where all the kit is accessed from the side/rear. Brilliant truck, being a Staffordshire lad I remember Reliant at Tamworth on the A5 before it closed. I used to work around that area for many years and it was the main employer. Just thought. I used to occasionally drive a scammell scarab 3 wheel truck. The Scarabs steering wheel could do a 360 and experienced drivers glanced at the wheel direction as they approached so when they moved off it was in the right direction. These wee three wheelers got laughed at but were incredibly versatile. Great purchase.

I love weird vehicles so well done Chris! I've got a Reliant Rebel Estate (4 wheel) which is a brilliant little car, and a GT V6 Coupe with the engine out at the moment. Reliant were still more interested in quality than most 60s and 70s car makers, their business depended upon buyer loyalty rather than high volume, especially with the 3 wheelers. I think a varnished wood dropside would look great. The colour looks more like Persian Blue as used on the later Morris small commercials. Ambassador blue has much less green in it.

Gud on yer Chris as they say up here in Yorkshire,,if we were all the same life would be boring...I found a honda express in a ladies shed I was knocking down..it was her daughter's and hadn't been on the road since 1980, since then I have stripped it shot blasted it and powder coated the frame to as near as possible the original yellow some parts have been a bit tricky to find, mainly stuff comes from USA or Japan,,it's now finished and parked next to my R1 weekend toy in the garage...

If you type in Reliant TW9 road sweeper into your web search you will see pictures of an Ant road sweeper. They were lhd because it allowed the driver to keep the vacuum pipe and brush close to the kerb when sweeping. On the one pictured the fuel tank was totally different. Yours was registered in Hertfordshire so was likely operated by a council there.

I had five or six mini's over the years. The best being a 1275GT. A lot of people did put dual tanks into their mini's. Kits were available from several tuners. I didn't bother due to losing the space in the boot.
