My 7th birthday was extra special for me in 1975. I had stashed away one little momento to always remember that day by. It was one of those whistles with the ring at the end and when you pulled it out from the whistle it had a trombone-like effect but raised the pitch to an ultrasonic sound. Somewhere along the line it got lost but I see it ended up across the Pacific and in the hands of Morrisette.

Many Koreans already knew Morissette before this final event because of media and sponsor nights which were all available in YT. Her Korean fans just greatly increased after the 2 back to back performances. I saw several fan cam videos where they were shouting. Maybe they eliminated the noise in mixing so that online viewers will enjoy.

I believe they have toned down the audio that was recorded by the cameras (that's why we can barely hear the background audio/noise) and used the audio that was coming from Mori's mic.

People that criticise her for not singing live. This performance just proves all those numnuts wrong! She’s the ultimate live stage performer! When she went back to the same event in 2018. She sang her second song in English and Korean. There were a couple fan cams recorded her performance and you can definitely hear the crowds going nuts at the end of her performance.

She's a vocal chameleon and a genre slayer. For real, she can sing ballad, jazz, rock, and can even do rap music. She is also an excellent singer in terms of musical theater songs like Defying Gravity, She Used To Be Mine. She also got the chance to play the role of Mitchie Torres to the Philippine adaptation of Disney's Camp Rock which was originally played by Demi Lovato. She can also sing pop songs, and can even dance. This girl is just given with so much talent. She can sing, can dance, can act, can speak English fluently, can play lots of instruments, and a lot more amazing skills.

The crowd didn't make that much noise that time because Morissette was new to them that time. She was invited in the same event but different year (2018) and the crowd was very cheerful and welcomed her so much. They were making so much noise and had so much energy

Asia's Song Festival 2017, held in Busan, South Korea. Mainly invited those popular k-pop and those Singer's famous in Asia situated at one of stadium with cater more than 85000 audiences during that festival. MORISSETTE'S was the only female artists from Philippines invited to performance in 2017 and earned a Title of ASIA'S PHOENIX due to her excellent performance in 2017. The organiser invite her again in 2018, and become the first Philippines artist performance back to back on 2 consecutive years in the history outside Korea.

Hello, SalvoG, thanks a lot for reacting, at last, to this Morissette's performance at the 2017 Asia Song Festival held in South Korea where she represented the Philippines. It's an annual event hosted by Korea where singers and performers from Asian countries are invited. Mori's incredible two-song performance amazed the hosts, that's why they invited her again to perform the following year 2018. It was the first time that a performer was invited to perform two years in a row. Please react also to that. As you've noticed, the audience was not "loud enough". maybe because Mori at that time was not well-known to Koreans who comprised the majority of that audience, who were there for their Korean idols and not for the guest performers. Also, I've read in some other comments that the audience did not understand much English so the songs she sang were "foreign" to them. I think that Mori took note of that and did something about it, so as a result, her performance at the 2018 ASF earned her more Korean fans. You will have to find out what she did to achieve that. I believe that this 2017 ASF performance was given due recognition because it was then when she earned her title as "The Asia's Phoenix" 🔥💖 As you have witnessed, she is not just a singer with a beautiful voice, she also has a commanding stage presence, performing two challenging songs, alone on a big stage, with no backup singers or dancers or a live band, in a large venue, yet she was able to deliver with confidence, those belting notes and whistles. Mori is truly an amazing and incredible artist! One of the best in the world. 💖🥰

Yes, the crowd seemed to not making any like the usual crowd noises in performances like this. But, when she was invited in Asia's Song Festival 2018, they were all clapping and cheering for her because of commendable performance there. She sang one of her original songs and she sang a Korean song where she translated the first two verses and the bridge in English and she just sang the last chorus and the coda part all in Korean ♥️ you should check that out too.

Her father was musical and a rocker, and named her after Johanne Bach & Alanis Morissette , Like most small kids in the Philippines grew up with a karaoke machine in the home...and entered singing contests at Malls....covering, Whitney , Celine, Mariah Jessi J , Demi Lovato. She has never had singing lessons , but had 6 months of breathing exercises. Unless its K-Pop, Korean fans are very reserved with music they don't know, but Mori, is the only one invited back to this in Busan, KR She appeared the following year 2018 Her YT channel is... kzbin.info she is the only one that controls that channel and uploads much of her new stuff there. This goes every year with different Singers in south Korea and it's normal to sing more than one song, normaly you only do this Show once, Mori was invited back in 2018 and she did a cover of a Korean song in englisch with a twist at the end, they love Mori in Korea now, ther are more than 5000 people in the Stadion, if this was in the Philippinens the crowd would go crazy, in Korea they are more laid back, now the Singers Mori grow up with and who she covers are MARIAH, WHITNEY, ARETHA FRANKLIN, BEYONCE and her voice is a mix of all the above and a few more, of course EMOTION was a Mariah song with whistle notes, Mori sings everything apart from Jazz which she whats to learn, she has said it's very difficult but she likes it, it's a challange to do something new, Mori does broadway Musicals, R&B, Rock and roll, Film music, you name the Genre Mori sings it apart from Jazz. By the way: mori pulled off the Whistle in Emotions almost „naturally“, when Mariah in the original (MTV live early 90ies) had to concentrate hard and really focus to hit it right!

They're all Asians. All Asian people audiences without exceptions are conservative /reserved. Even when Michael Jackson performed in Asia, the audience were holding back. And he had to make sure his dance moves were not too provocative and no crotch grabbing, hip thrusting moves which kinda took away from his overall performance. He even excluded his most sexy songs in his repertoire in all his Asian world tour. Thank God I watched his concerts here in Europe. Here, he performed like the King of Pop in all his 3 world tours. His concerts are still the best to this day hands down. I still remember it very well.

I think they were just rude, there are plenty of songs I listen to, (Dimash immediately comes to mind) where I don’t understand the language, but I don’t need to. This is pure, raw talent and should have been acknowledged by the crowd, regardless of the language. Mori is one of the best, if not the best female voices in the world.
