Her first song was in Tagalog language. The problem with the audience was they dont understand what she was singing. Her second song was originally a korean song and eas translated in English with mixed Korean language. That was where the audience appreciated her performance.

She was actually advised by her doctor to not perform on this day because her voice was in badly need of rest. This was the year where she was really restless and like she's always the special guest in every events in TV shows and even in private events. But she still slayed this performance 👏 If you're looking for a phenomenal singer, you should probably look and check out some of Queen Regine Velasquez's performances. She's the singer that Morissette and other powerhouse singers look forward to because she set such phenomenal standards in Philippine music industry.

You should watch Koreans reacting to this performance. One guy, as it came to that dramatic end, started ballin like crazy! I thought he was overreacting, but apparently he was going thru a breakup at the time and so it really got to him. I know it’s not funny, but I admit I laughed when I saw his tears. lol Proves to show not only Mori’s prowess in emotional vocal expression, but also the power of language.

Hey Salvo! At the start of the ballad, you mentioned that at the end of the note, her voice would sound like it was running out of air, or that it sounded like it was "drying out". This is definitely intentional. She's colouring her voice with a breathy, aspirated texture, for dramatic effect. She's also trying to compress her vocals at the start, to give off a restrained, emotional effect. Everything she's doing is very intentional. *She's a technician.* Why does her belted notes sound so powerful? It's because she's one of the rare vocalists that has mastered how to maximize the resonating chambers of her vocal tract. By comparison, most singers today use modern singing techniques that constrict their vocal tract, which is the easier route in generating forward resonance and power, but because the throat is constricted, the vocal production is shrill and overly-piercing. With Morissette, that vocal tract is so open when pushing out those belts. That's why her voice sounds so full and rich, and the belts sound so rounded (not shrill or piercing to the ears). Also, she is so controlled, using very controlled airflow, using A LOT of vocal compression to generate power and resonance without unleashing too much air. She's my favourite vocalist to watch, because she is doing so much with her voice that most people don't really pick up on. She's a genius vocalist.

Resignation is a famous break-up song in Korea. I really love the way Mori sang it that I looked up the original singer. Her translation is spot on. I don't know if you noticed that the last part was sung in the Korean language and that's why the crowd went wild. She made a video of this on her channel and sang it in three languages.

Alanis was born on 1 June 1974. Morissette Amon was born on 2 June 1996, same year when Alanis wrote the music to Jagged Little Pill 💊. 2018 Asia Song Festival was in Busan, South Korea 🇰🇷 Throwback. English and Tagalog. The studio version is a duet between Morissette Amon and KZ Tandingan. The rap was from KZ. Other female singers from The Philippines 🇵🇭: Gigi de Lana (Sweet Love), Julie Anne San Jose (My Immortal), Elaine Duran (Butterfly 🦋), Elha Nympha (Vision of Love 💘), Chloe Redondo (Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka), Maymay Entrata (Amakabogera), Zephanie Dimaranan (You're All I Need). Resignation. Morissette Amon sang in English and Korean. Squeak! 🐿 🤯 Suggested group video 📹: Morissette Amon, KZ Tandingan and Sarah Geronimo sing Love So Soft ♥

Hey SalvoG, thanks a lot for reacting to this 2018 Asia Song Festival performance of Morissette (MORR-ih-SET) or Mori for short. I am among those who suggested that you react to this one not only because it was the first time that a non-Korean artist was invited to the festival twice and two years in a row at that (so a record-setting for a Filipina singer), but also because you have also noticed that in her 2017 ASF performance, despite her outstanding performance in singing two difficult songs, the audience, mostly Koreans, did not seem so much appreciative of her. This time around, in 2018, she found a way to win their attention and their hearts, with this original Korean song which is translated to English as "Resignation", an emotional but powerful ballad sung by Lee Young Hyun (a famous Korean singer). She translated the song to English with the help of her Korean friend but kept the last part, the "climax", in Korean and sung it with so much emotion and power, that the thousands of Koreans in attendance in that stadium (we can hear them applauding and shouting in appreciation and awe) and maybe the hundreds of thousands (or even millions) watching the event in TV or livestream were won over by her. 💖👏👏👏 If I am not mistaken, from that day on, Morissette has now a lot of Korean fans. She maybe one of only a handful of Filipino singers known by Koreans. Proof of this is that her rendition of the same song "Resignation" in three languages (English-Tagalog-Korean) she uploaded in her channel kzbin.info/www/bejne/r5SvlGujgc54obM in 2020 is the most viewed video at almost 6 million views and we can assume that a big part of the viewers are from Korea. Also, Mori's performances (on the Wish Bus and others) are being viewed, reacted to and analyzed by many Korean vocal coaches and reactors. For your next reaction, please watch her doing a cover of "Listen" by Beyonce in one of her concerts, also in 2018. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYDTYpmofaaIa68 I can say that this is one of the best covers I've heard and watched, plus she narrated here a brief story of her career, how she started and where she is now, known as the "Asia's Phoenix", one of the best vocalists in the world. 🔥💖

You’re getting it all wrong I’m half Korean so I know what I’m talking about. The audience is extremely engaged that’s just how Koreans act 😂 It’s disrespectful to yell clap or make any noises during a performance. That’s the Korean way fyi. You might get the occasional light clapping every now on then but thats about it.
