Great song from a great songwriter. Might be the best song on a great album. Other great PS songs to check out: Late in the Evening, Still Crazy After All These Years, Slip Sliding Away, Kodachrome, Love Me Like a Rock, Me and Julio Down By the Schoolyard, Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover and many more.

I saw Paul Simon on his Graceland tour. It remains the best concert I have ever been to. It wasn't just a Paul Simon concert, it was a festival of South African music. Simon even left the stage at various times. I've also seen Ladysmith Black Mambazo in concert a couple times, which were fantastic shows. RIP Joseph Shabalala. Graceland is one of the best albums of all time.

When the workers in the South African diamond mines left work for the day, they had to have the soles of their shoes checked in case they'd trodden on any small diamonds while they were working and so could have worn them all the way home (intentionally or otherwise).

People always note Paul's lyrical skills, but this song shows off the wonderful smoothness of his voice and melodies and the way he can incorporate just about any style into his music. Other great examples of that are earlier songs like his lullaby "St Judy's Comet" and the doo-wop inspired "Loves me like a rock". And yes, so much of his music is uplifting and joyful - my go-to album when I'm depressed is "There Goes Rhymin' Simon", with songs like "Take Me to the Mardi Gras" and "Was a Sunny Day".

Such a great song from the "Graceland" album! Paul Simon is such a great singer songwriter. After his success with Simon & Garfunkel in the 60's, Paul Simon went solo in 1970. He has a huge library of songs such as "Mother & Child Reunion", "Me & Julio Down By The Schoolyard", "50 Ways To Leave Your Lover", "Still Crazy After All These Years", "Gone At Last", "My Little Town", "Kodachrome", "Loves Me Like A Rock", "The Boy In The Bubble" etc.

I love this album and love this song. My favorite performance of this song is the live performance in South Africa. I couldn't see your screen at all so I'm not sure if that's the one you reacted to . If so I'd like to give a shout out to the man playing the trumpet. The late, great, Father of South African Jazz, Mr. Hugh Rammapolo Masekela. Rest in Peace Sir, you helped change South Africa for the better.❤

Paul got a lot of flack for going to work in South Africa during the apartheid era. But he used the Graceland album to bring the world's attention to the rich heritage of traditional African music, and made international stars out the a cappella vocal group backing him here, Ladysmith Black Mambazo. It's a joyful album.

It should never be underestimated how much the Graceland Album really did begin the movement to the end of apartheid in South Africa.... Paul was facing being blacklisted by the whole of the music industry and his fellow 'stars' for daring to record the SA musicians in Johannesburg. due to there being a curfew in place for the Black South African musicians, Paul would smuggle them into the studio after curfew and record their pieces, before returning to New York to write lyrics & piece the sounds together, there is a full documentary on how it was achieved. I am lucky enough to work in and around Joburg and the surrounding townships for 6-months of each year and the youth I come across are all heavily into playing instruments because of Paul Simon - its a pleasure to sit in an evening with the fire burning and all these kids just playing, singing and dancing their hearts out....... by far THE most important Album ever recorded - it literally changed a continent and freed tens of millions of people from apartheid ....

Hmmmm……could you try just having a big COPYRIGHT written over the video instead of making it really dark? I’ve seen other reactors do this and it seems to work just fine. And it makes for a more pleasant experience for the viewing as we can still make out the action on the video……..Yes, I’ve seen it many times, but it would still be nice to be able to watch Ladysmith dancing etc. anyway, it’s just a thought. Appreciate you so much! 😁. And thank you for reacting to this song! One of my favorites. .

I'm not sure why you are blacking out the videos when there are a host of other people's reaction videos that are not blacked out. You did this also with We Are the World. I really enjoy your thoughtful comments and reactions, but wish you could do a little bit of basic research to determine that you can show a normal video. It would be so much a better experience for us.

I upload it as is, and when it gets blocked, I reupload it and with a black scale over it to get it passed the copyright. Usually some videos get blocked and you can appeal, but this takes time. That’s why some you see with no altering to it. The way my schedule is I operate day to day because I have a really busy work schedule - so I cannot wait for the appeals, I try and upload anyway I can! I do apologies I still hope you enjoy my videos
