LZ III will blow you away because they go in a completely different direction...and Since I've Been Loving You is a masterpiece by Jimmy which to me is his greatest guitar solo that he did in one take...it literally chokes me up listening to it and it will leave you with your mouth open in awe
@henriettaskolnick44452 жыл бұрын
This song is beautifully orchestrated. The song dynamics are subtle, yet impactful. Robert is a big fan of Tolkien, histories, myths, legends, and lore; a bit of which is here and will be in songs to come. I'd say do Moby Dick on its own, it wouldn't flow well with the last song but hey, your channel, your rules. 🙂 The majority of this album was recorded while on tour. They would go into whatever studio they could find in whatever city they were in and try to lay down tracks. Can you imagine? Travelling and performing everywhere and in the odd hour, recording songs for a new album. Jimmy said at one point that he was so tired of simultaneous touring/recording that he lost confidence whether the album was any good or not. I think it's understandable; you can be so focused on something that you lose track of what you're even doing anymore. The third album will be fairly different as they flex their talents in different musical directions.

*Hey Bro* I am *THOROUGHLY* enjoying your step by step trip down the rabbit hole of MY G.O.A.T. band.! I was a touring musician during the 1st half of the 80's. Yeah I'm old, lol..... I saw ZEP in L.A. in 77 where I grew up. For "Me" it was a life changing thing, I should say the first time I heard Led Zeppelin 1 in 1972, a couple of years after it was released. I was 12 that summer and the awe and so much else for them has never left me to this day.! No spoilers but you've got ALOT of smiles & emotions headed your way.! Will all be watching. *David* .....

Album three is much more acoustic. As for this song, Rick Beato breaks it down down by instruments and vocals that you might enjoy. It’s one of this “Why is this song so great?”. I think it’s #87.

My older brother had a killer 4 speaker system back then, this song had to go to 8.5 maybe 9 volume. Got to be conscientious of the next neighborhood over. They want to hear it too. LOL This album was purchased repeatedly by everyone I knew, who wore out copy after copy. Jacket with most of the ink missing. The bass line, the drop into "Ramblin On", JHB, all the sizzling guitar by Jimmy, overwhelming stuff, especially when you're 13. A Masterpiece Album.

I recommend doing "Moby Dick" on its own. It is epic in its own right (you will understand after you listen), and "Bring it on Home" is totally different and one of my favorites on this album. One thing that can be said about Zeppelin is that they have a "sound": Bonham's heavy drums that follow the guitar rather than holding down the rhythm with Jones's bass, and Plant's signature howl, but no two songs sound alike. Page was a master at creating songs that were unique from each other and offered surprises within the song.

Who is arguably THE MOST Talented musician in this group and without a doubt the least mentioned??? John Paul Jones can play just about every instrument AND PLAY IT WELL...!! He has orchestrated and composed MANY of the background acoustics and has added textures simply by either his bass, his keyboard synths and piano in so many of their songs. JPJ is the unsung hero of the Mighty Led Zepp. Peace 3/13/22

This is my favourite Zeppelin track. Everything is on point. The soulful singing, fantastic bass line, drumming. It's just brilliant. A beautiful arangement. I love when you hear the guitar that sounds like a train whistle and that lead break. Jimmy page's rhythm guitar playing is just restrained doing enough for the song, allowing for JPJ"s funky bass especially toward the end.

Each of their albums continue to grow and evolve...you with hear all manner of genres and musical styles throughout their career. The third album was a turning point in their career, and moves in many different directions. Rush is a band you should also explore....vast body of work, very thoughtful. Yes is amazing as well. I also recommend the Who.

do the last 2 TOGETHER -your inclination is 100% right -on the album there is no break really between songs eitherand you give the last song better context and the last song just like led zep 1 is a CLASSIC !!! bring it on home is the perfect PERFECT ending for led z 2 i will never forget bringing this home when it just came out and listening to the album from start to end which is what we all did back then all did!! no video to distract and long attention spans accustomed to absorbing the entire album at once as it was meant to be your instinct is good!! the authentic original experience leads to a more complete appreciation in any art form-especially this !!

On songs that John Paul Jones played the keyboard, he played the bass with his feet simultaneously. He was insanely talented. Another English band that was wildly popular was The Who. You can't really cover '70's rock and leave them out. Another rock genre that was wildly popular was southern rock. The Allman Brothers Band, Lynnard Skynnard, Charlie Daniels, The Marshall Tucker Band to name a few. I'm excited to go on this journey with you. Reliving the seventies brings back so many good memories.

Today the world lost a brilliant talent in the producer, engineer and musician Richie Podolor. Richie was an amazing musical guide for Three Dog Night from its very first record at MCA and he continued producing for us right on through to our new album, that is just about to be released. Despite his low-key demeanor, Richie was a powerhouse; beginning in the 1960’s he worked as a producer, engineer, musician, composer and arranger for countless artists including the Monkees, the Turtles, the Electric Prunes, the Grateful Dead, Donovan, the Dillards, Chris Hillman, and Black Oak Arkansas, as well as Steppenwolf for whom Richie engineered their huge hits “Born to be Wild” and “Magic Carpet Ride”. Scores of artists, songwriters, producers and engineers have been impacted by Richie’s ideas and techniques. He was a great musician and a dear friend. Richie Podolor will be missed even as his talent still rests in the music and musicians that he touched......please react to the audio version "Woman" by Three Dog Night from their "It Ain't Easy" album.

Led Zeppelin were able to diversify within the Rock Genre, imo, unlike any other rock band before them or since, yet it you'd never heard them before you'd know they were a rock band. I suggested on your Reaction video to "Ramble On " live in 2007 at the 02 arena to check out J.P. Jones "Isolated Bass". Here's another song you might like to check out of theirs, "Going to California" in which you'll understand the further diversity of the band. All of them brilliant musicians. Take care and Have a Nice Day 😊🇬🇧🇺🇸

Listen to Season of the Witch by Donovan, which was recorded before this. It clearly influenced Ramble On, especially the verse and bass line and general song structure. Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones worked with Donovan in London, but supposedly, they did not play on this record, which was recorded in Hollywood.

Honestly, doing a full job on Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Sabbath, Deep Purple, Def Leppard…..that’ll keep you busy for a good while. You might wish to add in Queen for sure into that group….and if you like prog rock, then Rush, or if you want to stick to hard rock, then Aerosmith.
@w.geoffreyspaulding65882 жыл бұрын
You asked about other major bands. Other huge bands…Queen, Rush, Dire Straits……and depends on your taste with prog….Yes, Genesis, Jethro Tull, Supertramp…….or Southern rock style. If you want to explode your subs….I mean if that is important to you..then tackle Nightwish…symphonic metal. You might enjoy it as it’s very “showy” and yet heavy….and fronted by one of the best female vocalists in the world. And your numbers will skyrocket…..as I said, if that is a goal of yours. You also seem to love pure voices……I think you would love Aurora…and also Joni Mitchell. Your taste in music ranges pretty far and wide, which is wonderful, because you can then enjoy taking your channel in into many genres.
