I have a family, a ganuinely crazy mom, a dad specifically whos been distant and uninvolved my entire life, the opposite of what you describe. The one time in my life I ever actually needed help literally no one was there. The overall effects are a destroyed life and multiple s**c*de attempts with no help and a father who never cared, never knew his daughter, never tried, and struggles to even give hugs to his daughter. I feel unhuman because of my narcissistic father. When I experienced r**e and an abus*ve relationship, he wasnt there to catch me. Infact, he threatened to kick me out because I couldn't stop crying. He didn't care that I never slept, wouldn't eat for days, or have bruises and cuts on me. He forced his way into my room before with physical force and put his hands in a circle around my neck but didn't touch me. He was more upset I like the color black than about anything actually affecting me, than abot me being r*ped. I grew up wearing trash cheap falling apart clothes and trying everything to make people who didn't care about me finally show some care. Now the physical scars and the mental scars will never go away, and I've planned my end. I just wish someone was there to hold me in my last moments, like my dad never did. Please be a good dad.

I think that mindset of _"would I let a child do this?"_ is really brilliant and something a hell of a lot more people need to keep in mind these days. You see people throw away with their life with destructive habits purely because they're NOT kids anymore - they constantly seek out habits and indulge themselves in things they never got to do as a kid, and would've never been able to do if they didn't live alone and keep to themselves all day; eating ice cream and chips for breakfast, spending all their free time watching cartoons, beating off until 3:00am, smoking weed all day every day. Most of the time, my parents would never actually give me an explanation when I asked WHY I couldn’t do something. My mother was a frequent user of the “because I said so.” It shouldn’t come as a shock that I wasted most of my early 20s staying up until 2 AM playing video games with no direction in life. It wasn’t until my mid 20s that I realized that my misery was caused by my habits when I had it all explained to me in ways I could understand. If I had been told earlier why I couldn’t do many of the things that I wanted to do, perhaps I would’ve gotten a bit more of a head start in life.

thats very true... but nothing is limited, be are bound by time i knew it when i was grinding on a game i though "i can get unlimited exp from grinding this quest over and over" but then i realized that there is a limit even though the quest was repeatable, and there was no level cap that i was limited by the ammount of time i could play the game the ammount of time the servers would be up (FOREVER) and my own life span yah the only reasonable limit to this game was how much of my life span i was willing to pour into it safe to say i dont play that game anymore i loaded it up again and though "why the hell am i even playing this TIME SINK" for rewards that i didnt even value...
