My biggest regret being an American who has gone through our severely propagandized education system is this. We have been placed in the position to arbitrate the world stage, and have spent the time from WW2 to teach our youth to never listen to the other side and that the time to have nuanced discussions has passed. We didn’t even learn about Danzig or anything leading up to WW2. It was WW1, Treaty of Versailles upset Germany, Hitler invaded Poland for revenge because he was a mad man. That was IT. Thank you for your channel, I only wish that this trend out of our brainwashing continues toward a more peaceful future for us all.

Gen Z.... No chance, this generation loves to "talk" about changes, as long as it is on social media. There is a little thing called the 2nd. No one uses it for what it was made to do. The only time anyone uses it is to "protect" their own piece of world. You can say about the Italians what you will, but THEY marched against their govt, and CHANGED things. (I'm not a fascist. Nor do I support fascism) That is the issue of today, people TALK, but don't WALK. The people in charge KNOW this, they are infinitely more intelligent than the people as a whole. My reason for not changing anything is simple, and honest: I'm 55, retired born and living in the Netherlands. I'm financially very secure, hence I could retire whilst still able to enjoy it. I have no children, so I also have no burden to "save" the planet for "your offspring" I payed my dues, I made the conscious decision NOT to father children that have to live in this wasteland we call "life" I made sure my "backyard" is and stayed clean. And yes, I too would love to have world peace, but that's not something I have to work for, that's for this generation to accomplish.

Our family came from Poland and Germany, via Danzig. Both sides met in America and were free of both World Wars. As such, I've always viewed the German-Polish war of 1939 as a horrific and avoidable tragedy and I think this video really shows how it was exactly that. The Germans and Poles faced the same enemy in Communist Russia, and it was terrible that the Allies and the Polish, Post-Pilsudki "Democratic" Government continued to make Poland into a battleground of resistance after their disastrous and inevitable failed defense of the Nation. It was terrible that the Polish alienated the Ukrainians and Germans who by all rights were fellow Christians, fellow Europeans, and would eventually become fellow victims of Russian terrorism, genocide and murder. I hope that Europeans, and the World, will never make the same mistake again. Fantastic video as always!

I just wanted to mention that it wasn't Poland that partitioned Germany at the end of 18th century, but Prussia, Russia and Austria partitioned Poland. So the fact that there were many Germans living in northern Poland after the 1st world war was the result of the Prussian partition and as such cannot be blamed on Poland. Danzig, or Gdansk, as Poles call it, used to be a free city, with many Poles living there. And what about the Teutonic Knights in the Middle Ages? It wasn't Poland that expanded its territory at the cost of the protoGermanic nation, it was them grabbing as much as they could lay their hands on. The battle of Grunwald in 1410 finally put an end to it. It's true that Poland has fought many wars with its neighbours, as did all European nations, but in many cases they were defensive wars, not aggressive. And if they defeated the Russians or the Holy Roman Empire in the west, they added more territory. Which has always been the case with warring nations, just think of the Roman Empire, or the British one. Brits are skunks, and it's a real pity that so many Poles lost their lives fighting for them in the battle of Britain.
@Blackdeathgaming-yv1kk20 сағат бұрын
Conveniently forgetting that the slavs only headed west in 600 ad and before that Poland was actually inhabited by the east Germanic peoples. The area of Poland has shifted between slavs and germanics for almost 2 millennia.

This is actually really interesting and I think all sides from history should be heard, but when you say that Hitler was being told of countless atrocities committed by the Polish where is the evidence for these? And how were Poland planning to attack when Germany had about half the size of poland's entire army in their airforce alone with triple the ground forces, This just seems like insane claims to justify everything
@EricNapoli-z3d4 ай бұрын
Poland had the potential to attack Germany years earlier, not in 1939. As for crimes against the German minority, these were fairly uncommon in terms of deadly violence, but common in terms of discrimination. It is difficult to find evidence, since this has been erased from historic memory by both the communist Polish government and the West, but one good metric is to research general Polish oppression of other groups, such as Jews and Ukrainians, which has not been made hard to find.
@FinnishShitposting1014 ай бұрын
@@EricNapoli-z3d If there is no proof for these then it surely invalidates any reasoning for war. And as for treatment of Jews in Europe I mean that historically isn't surprising, especially considering this area had the majority of Jews as Russia specifically banned them from moving from these areas in what would be Ukraine and Poland in the Pale settlement. So these claims don't hold merit.
@EricNapoli-z3d4 ай бұрын
@@FinnishShitposting101 The reason for the war was the problem of Poland becoming an anti-German British asset in Central Europe. Polish cultural persecution of the German minority was a secondary issue.

I love my polish brothers, but your summary was accurate. They had to make a choice between East or West, Russia or Germany. You don't always get to pick a good outcome, either politically or in life. Sometimes all you can do is choose which bad thing is going to happen. So much WW2 youtube content is just regurgitating the same tired narratives that it basically feel like a propaganda machine. Your channel is refreshing and dare I say it, more unbiased than anything I have seen on this platform. You're doing important work here friend. Keep it up. The normies won't drink until their heads are shoved under the water of evidence and virtually none of them can wrap their minds around the fact that the victor writes the history books. It is literally called "His Story" for a reason and the words we write are "Spell-ing" because they're magical.
