6:43 I hated university for this reason. I studied architecture and the essay you wrote to try and justify your design was more important than the design itself. You could make another generic gray block house with no style and get a high grade so long as you justified it to the circle-jerk tutors who were already biased towards modernism.

This type of stuff has really helped me as a musician. I know I’m not Beethoven. I try to stay humble and realize I can express my own voice/idea which reflects my inner world, but it’s not the best. It’s just me. Im glad to avoid that hubris. Some of the best musicians (people like billy strings) are just super humble and down to earth people. Approaching your work from a blue collar perspective is the best advice I’ve ever received from anyone on how to approach the working at my craft. Some people won’t like my work and that’s fine.

I agree with Sam to a large extent but he's lacking quite a bit of self awareness not realizing how much of his art (taking his entire output together) is quite modern and definitely goes against traditional notions of beauty.

1) He literaly said in this video that his goal is to always be relevant and in the trends . 2) He never said in this video he is making "beautiful art" . 3) your childish "you called someone ugly but you are ugly yourself" mentaliry is annoying and is not an argument . 4) Stop thinking you are bad at it .

@@Ares_gaming_117 I love Sam Hyde btw. Maybe I should have made myself a bit more clear. He's sort of railing against conceptual art in this video when that's precisely the kind of art he does. I'm oversimplifying a bit because I do think he hires very talented graphic designers and videographers, and a lot of his work is quite beautiful in a wacky 🤪way.
@Ares_gaming_1173 ай бұрын
@@sasamilic720 Yeah I more so look at his art as railing against modern art and ugliness by doing satire of it because its not sincerely railing against beauty imo, and he kinda confirms that in this video where he is being sincere about beauty. Although he said he's changed, when he was younger he didnt care much about beauty and paintings and such, so maybe initially in his career it was more sincere ugliness but turned into an ironic parody of itself, mocking the immaturity of his younger self and undeveloped people behind actual modern ugly art

I hope Sam and Nick realize that in order to even recognize the good, the true, the beautiful, you HAVE to acknowledge that the good, the true and the beautiful, IS GOD. That to create something beautiful, is to be holy. You can't make a painting of demons and sex orgies and it bee beautiful. It doesn't matter how nice you paint, or how good you are at drawing. Beauty, truth, and goodness are objective. They are unchanging. You know when something is any of those three IMMEDIATELY and you also know when any of these three are absent in something, therefore it is evil. This is so simple a concept, it is literally ingrained within us from birth. Jesus Christ bless you all, including Sam and Nick.
