When I interviewed at LucasArts, over a decade ago, I found out they had a Sam and Max 2 and Full Throttle 2 almost at completion but were cancelling them. They told me they were pretty bad. Even so, I would have loved to see them. (If you were wondering, I did not get a job offer at that time. Still a fun interview.)

While the Telltale game were fine, I was never a fan of Sam and Max (or the Monkey Island crew or Ben) being translated to 3D. I feel like they lose a lot of character. 2D animation may have its limitations, but so does 3D.

hmm... It´s a little sad that you only mentioned Telltale Games as a modern Point-and-Click Studio, but what about the great adventures from Daedalic Entertainment like the Deponia Series. Daedalic is making great and clever games with an awesome humor. You should totaly try them.
@toongrowner16 жыл бұрын
I know right? They make such great games. I still play the deponia series from time to time (all 4 of them). Also can I highly recommend Edna and harvey the break out and a new beginning.
@Excuvator6 жыл бұрын
toongrowner1 I only completed Deponia 1 so far and played a new beginning till the midgame, also started Edna & Harvey. I really enjoyed The whispered World with its deep sarcasm!!
@toongrowner16 жыл бұрын
Play the entire Deponia series, belive me, it gets more and more funny and more and more epic. Just be warned, in deponia 3 or 4, there is one small puzzle that is really really mean, like you will feel so trolled if you figure it out. Fun fact: In the german version of deponia 2 and 3, a famous german Let's Player named "Gronkh" gets actually a voice role (he is kinda best bud with the creator), but he actually does a pretty nice job. (He was also Joker in the Lego Batman movie, but this was not really fitting to be honest)
@Excuvator6 жыл бұрын
I´m still waiting for their Playstation Release (the old Trophy Hunter Gene´s ;) As a fellow german I know Gronkh (but i do not like Let´s Plays so I do not watch his Vid´s). I think his Joker Imitation was fine. Could have been way worse xD But be sure my steam libary is stuffed with Deadalic Stuff, I just need the right mindset to play it^^ I also liked the "The Black Eye"-Series
@toongrowner16 жыл бұрын
Well I used to watch him for a while, but yeah, I don't like to watch plays either, I rather play games by myself. ^^; Yeah, his Joker was okay, certainly did not ruin the movie, but compared to the voice used in the trailer (which was prof-voice actor, who allready voiced the joker a few times), it could have been a bit better as well. ^^; I barely play on steam, the last thing I played there was cuphead. XD But point and click adventures I usually have physical on CD, even old timers like Monkey Island XD

Hey Jirard, I just wanted to say that I’ve enjoyed the completionist more than much of the other KZbin videos I usually watch. Mostly because your videos give a good amount of insight as to whether or not a game or company is willing to give their audience a reward for going above and beyond with their product. But besides that a lot of the jokes on the completionist are pretty damn funny. Like the 3d dot heroes bit with the fish sword it still gets me even to this day. Anyways, I’d love to see you complete bayonetta 2. Stay cool and keep doing what you do

Yes! This is one of my childhood games. Replayed it less than a month ago and still found it to be great. The characters are outrageous and the puzzles aren't nearly as frustrating as you'd expect for a point 'n click adventure from the early or mid 90s. Some of the dialogue is laugh out loud good with the way it complements the absurd situational comedy going on. Truly worth the replay, and definitely recommended for every fan of the genre (which I don't even count myself as, and yet it remains a classic in my eyes). And the visuals have aged extremely well, too!

I'm almost 3 years too late, but I feel it's worth noting: HIghway Surfing is optional as well, and by no means required to continue the game. It's an optional activity on the map that never has to be done. Of course that story is different if your title is The Completionist, but for non-completionists, they can skip out on this just fine. "Stemmle: I'd either make Highway Surfing a better mini-game, or chuck it altogether. Thank goodness we were smart enough not to make it an integral part of the story."
