Pat Garrett And Billy The Kid is a classic western full of great dialogue. Outstanding cast and the Dylan soundtrack is awesome. Certainly one of Peckinpah's finest. " Keep the change Bob "

I have not seen all these films, but a particular favorite of mine is The Wild Bunch. The idea of an end of an era, and an end of a lifestyle for a bunch of people is a fascinating one. In the end, they realise they don't want retire into obsuriity and probable boredom. Instead they decide to go out in a blaze of glory. Instead they get a bloody, painful humiliation. Perhaps this is best summed up when Pike is shot by the boy. Maybe also it was a comment of the lifestyle they had previously had. Either way this is a graphic and great film.

Have only seen The Wild Bunch and Major Dundee (which the studio cut to ribbons). Violence was his trademark. Then their is his cameo appearance in My Name Is Nobody; albeit his name is on a cross on a grave.

What I really liked about Sam's movies was his use of slow motion in key scenes. Anytime I see any movie by any director who incorporates that same type of slow motion I naturally think of Sam. What an innovator he was.

Sad that his demons cut short his career, but he made memorable films along the way....

Great movies, saw most of them in my life. Right now, I feel like an extra in The Wild Bunch’s end scene.

Wild Bunch was seriously controversial because of the violence. Pat Garret and Billy the Kid was my favourite Peckinpah western.

The bridge in the Wild Bunch was made of balsa and 4 stuntmen on real horse were on it. They don't make films like that nowadays!

Maureen O’Hara hated Sam ( and the feeling was mutual) because of their work on The Desdly Companions.

That doesn't surprise me. She was John Fords favorite actress.

I don't think Steve Judd ( Joel McCrae, Ride the High Country) was an ex Union officer, but an ex US Federal Marshall

Your totally correct and Randolph Scott had been his deputy most of the time.
