I like the 1X conversion on the front, Yamaha PWX comes with two rings in the front. I converted mine also, really don't need two rings in the front. I used a 38, looks like he has a 42 or so.

Sam sold me on Haibike. I figured one year of Sam on a bike is like 5 years for me. So I bought a Haibike. More companies should sponsor these jumpers with youtube channels. MATT JONES needs an ebike sponsor.

Not true at all. I bet those suspension bearings, headset bearings, bottom bracket, etc are all ****ed. Does Sam care? Not at all.

I like how he keeps his tire pressured and fork pressure super tight. And just his own setup of the bike unlike the norm. My LBS gives me a hard time for keeping my pressure on my 2.8 tires around 25-28. I ride hard rocky terrain and have rim cut 4 $80 Maxxis tire in the past year. But have fun doing it:)

That explains how manualing looks easy on a full suspension, as it's set up so hard on the back end. As well as getting good lift off the big jumps.
@hondacota4rt6 жыл бұрын
Joe Stephens I'm learning a bit of manualing at the moment and have heard a lot that locking the rear makes it easier aswell. But i find its actually easier soft, because you get automaticly slacker and further back with the butt. Can you explain why it should be easier with a firm rear?
@sixtysecondsofstephens23866 жыл бұрын
Valentin Maissen I think it's because your pulling against the suspension as well as trying to lift the front wheel. Try manualing on a hardtail it's alot easier. The bikes they use for tricks the jump bikes are more or less always hardtail as well.
@zyoungson6 жыл бұрын
Keep your suspension soft, hard tails manual easy because they have tiny chainstays

Great Vid EMBN, that dude is the boss hog of jumping. Cracks me up and does insane stuff and pretty much lands everything (in the end). Makes me want an ebike (HaiBike DH eBike looks the nuts, would like to see you guys review that beast!). Was interesting about what he was saying in a Cranked Magazine article about travelling with eBikes on planes. Would be good to get more info and find out a bit more about which airlines are ok and what you need to do when packing them for flying. I work in the Film/Broadcast industry and we have to hand carry de-charged camera batteries using the cabin allowance to get shit done around the world. Maybe thats an option for globetrotting eBikers like Sam and yourselves? Keep up good work!

That is quite high geared with the 38 up front, equivalent to a 15T on a Bosch. To get Bosch from a normal chainring divide by 2.5

I wish I could not give a fig about the paintwork on my e-bike when I crash, bash and slash like Sam! I get all sad and want to touch up the paintwork...doesn't make a ounce of difference to how the bike rides...I also love the finesse with which he uses bike tools...like the torque rock!

Hi. I want to purchase this bike. Or similar Hainike E mtb. I have tried to contact Haibike and had no reply, nor can I find any price lists or any for sale online, which is confusing. Are they not available in Denmark?... please help me, I need so much this bike! Or one much like it. I will find another company to go with if I can't get in touch with them to order one. Very bad customer service. Or lack thereof. Excuse my bad English.

Sam's urge to say "to the sky" was evident as his lower lip trembled lol. At first, I thought y'all had the bike with red spray painted handle bars and a plus size fork lol. It's relieving to know even pro's make mistakes like us normal folk. Not that i get a box of forks or anything.

I like mine, The Yamaha transmission pedals really nice. I can take the battery off and go to the bike park and ride. EBIKE's are not allowed. No battery no problem. THE new ones will have a big hole in the frame when you take the battery off.

I would imagine they will be allowed next year. Mammoth Mountain is open to Ebikes and Snow Summit is related to them. Plus The Troy Lee Bosch Electric Boogaloo just held an event there last month. I think they will be ready for ebikes next year.
