We've had a warrior class throughout history. Formed in battle, it's not a "disorder." It's a post traumatic RESPONSE by warriors trained to survive and protect. Period. This is my favorite Evan episode. The level of insight and sociological awareness that he spoke of could help so many vets.

I love Veterans and especially when they get out and create a buisness and also base to talk to about hard topics. As an NCO in the reserves that has never been deployed, do you have any advice for how to teach this new generation on how to stay motivated and knowing PTSD is thing but the best cure is overcoming it. I am an Army "brat"... I lived a huge life and plenty to talk about but I never done it. I just teach it.

May I ask, what is your M.O.S.? P.S. I am also a reservist that never deployed but I am ranked as a Specialist (E-4). My M.O.S. is Transportation Management Coordinator (88N) but hope to reclass to Human Intelligence Collector (35M) or Public Affairs Mass Communication Specialist (46S).

It's sad how our government is quicker to give benefits to generational welfare recipients than to veterans. I guess the welfare community casts more votes (often many votes under many names)than the veteran community. I would say make the VA a giant voucher program, but I've seen how bad my father's medical care is with Medicare. Doctors love to find ways to prolong treatment, and increase costs, so the government will pay them more money. If there was a way to inject true free market competition into treating vets, we could solve the problem.

@@Hanibul_Lecktor obviously yes. However, how do you expect a disabled veteran, who cannot work, to pay for a private physician? Should that veteran, who was injured serving our country, be obligated to pay for the resulting medical care? Please understand this is a nuanced issue, and that there isn't a simple solution to the problem.

Anytime you turn this channel from a "veterans" channel to a "conservative republican" channel I will give you a thumbs down. I am a veteran and I am not a conservative republican.

I am currently an 88N but I want to reclass to 35M, so this conversation was very helpful! P.S. It is upsetting that we have not elected a veteran president since 1988 nor a veteran as a major party candidate since 2008.

Awesome video. It’d be helpful for guys that want to get involved if there were podcasts or videos that give instructions or other knowledge. Maybe help guys not have to wait through the learning curve like Sam did. They probably exist and I just don’t know where to find them.

it shouldn't be democrat vs republican. both should work for the common good of the people that voted them into office. and there should be age restriction on leadership roles, like Even said, these people are so disconnected from reality.

Unfortunately it is. I could understand it if the person didn't do their part in the mission and got someone killed. I know if my friends did their part and I died, I wouldn't want my friends to sob, or be little wussys about it. I wouldn't want them to kill themselves just because I died. Al-Qaeda and the Taliban tried their hardest to kill us. Now don't finish the job for them. If I died from a mistake, I would want them to learn from it and move forward. We can't change what happened. We all know anyone could die while serving. We all knew before we signed. If I died, I would want my guys know we did our best, we had good times, and that they survived and I would want them to make the best of their lives. Remember the great memories, and now kick ass and have a great life.

@@ricktoole9991 Thank you for your service. I couldn't imagine what you guys experienced. In a foreign jungle environment, low visibility, most with no uniforms making it hard to identify. Booby traps, guys in the trees, and guys coming out of the ground tunnels. Lack of comms. Making bonds with guys that you probably liked more than your relatives. Relying on each other to survive. That will produce a tight bond. I'm sure your brothers valued and cherished their time with you, and would want the best for your future.
