When you do these commentary sections, you should sometimes pause the video as the guest is breaking down the dance because it’s quite difficult to critique something as it’s happening live. You could tell there were moments here where you asked Link a question but he found it difficult to get his full point across while watching. Perhaps try to pause occasionally and ask them to break down what we saw so far, with rewinds to provide context. Or perhaps watch one dancer’s round, ask for a quick break down then do the same after playing the other dancer’s round. The idea is great and I can’t wait to see more of these commentaries. I think if this kind of feedback is considered, they could be even more informative and fun to watch!

Thanks for the constructive feedback, that makes a lot of sense. I appreciate you taking the time to thoughtfully convey meaningful ways to improve. When I was doing this with Link and other guests, we were going in real time (as you can tell) and the whole thing is unscripted and impromptu. These are good techniques to apply going forward, thank you, truly.

@@enculturationpodcast You welcome! One step at a time! Another benefit it might give is allowing you to question certain things more directly. For example, when Link said he felt Icee won the first round but he would have tied it if he was judging, I would have loved to see that explored more and maybe even challenged, especially because judging is quite a hot topic in the underground scene right now. Like, you won but I’m gonna vote tie anyway? How does one “answer” the round yet “lose” the round at the same time? That would be a huge debate among me and my circle. Haha. Anyway, thanks for creating your platform and good content! 💪

Very helpful. These type of videos really help dancers to develop and dance enthusiasts to understand musicality, dance, styles etc. There has been a mass watering down of dance and we need to revive the substance, education and culture.

Is Korean subtitles also possible?
@enculturationpodcast11 ай бұрын
That is an interesting idea and I'm open to it. Is there anyone out there that knows Korean and is willing to volunteer time to translate? I don't trust auto translaters to translate the proper context.

There is not much reaction from the commentator.

That's because dance is more like a dialog, so it's hard to talk over it. Think about commenting rap battles, that would be confusing
