The fact that you knew that baby wasn't going to make it but all fought so hard for its life says a lot about all of you. With so much hate going around in the world, especially here on the internet, it's refreshing to see some true heroes fighting for what's right.

Dave, listening to the pain in your voice during the Chipette voiceover was heartbreaking. You are an amazing man, I take my hat off to you, Suzy, Mark, and the rest of the team. The care and love you provide to the animals in your care is truly heartwarming. Thank you.

Sorry for your sad loss please know that you did your best. This loss is such a rare thing and you can only work on the knowledge you have. In the case of baby 37 it was simply too late, after a catastrophic injury. There have been 36 that you have saved and only 3 are left to get integrated. That is truly AMAZING, that is 36 lives living that would not be without your love and care and intervention. The bite wound was on the stomach so chances are great it would have perished anyway do to the nature of intestinal complications. At least in its final minutes it was rested in Dave’s lap so could feel some love at the end.

I know that other people can have worries other than saving wildlife. Or they look upon the monkeys as pests. I know that in Australia, people save injured and orphaned flying foxes just as you save vervets. But many Australians see flying foxes as pests, not as intelligent sentient beings who deserve a second chance. So, thank you again for all your hard work and caring. ❤️

I felt so sad for that little guy who didn't make it! I see you guys did all that you could for this little one, who was probably already gone, but that didn't stop you from trying everything you could to bring him back! Thank you so much for all the love and care that you give to these animals! 🙏🐒💖

I could not have said it any more eloquently than Julie did below. I choked up hearing the pain in Dave's voice. I know the emotional toll on all of you is monumental, because your love and empathy for all life is monumental. Everything in the universe is connected energy, so I have no doubt that baby's spirit is resting peacefully in the next realm of life, maybe with its mother. Thank you for your complete 24/7 devotion in all you do. I hope your outreach programs that educate the public, especially children, exponentially foster the realization that monkeys are sentient beings, and with that realization, greater appreciation and empathy will follow. This video was both sad and celebratory, Watching the monkeys and listening to your voiceovers always teaches me something new, and makes me feel closer to the monkeys.

Thank you VMF for rescuing orphan monkeys. VMF thank you sooo much for giving little Chipette a name! :) And for trying to make Chipette as comfortable as possible under the circumstances, and giving him love, quiet, respect, and peaceful attention as he passed away. Sad. Very sad. I am sorry for your loss VMF. RIP dear sweet Chipette.

I'm sorry you were unable to save the little one. Hearing the sadness in Dave's voice was enough to bring tears to my eyes. It's unfortunate that we do not have more empathetic, more caring humans in this world. Thank you for making a difference to so many precious creatures.

Interesting and varied episode. It's important to see the work of the foundation as a whole. Reintegrations are sometimes very tricky; not all wounds can be healed; rehab takes time but Lili's story is delightful. She had a slow bonding with Zee but now look at them! She's a plucky little thing and bravely showed her independence while following Zee until Zee really took to her. Always great to see Floki!

This episode demonstrates that other creatures--not just humans--have lives of love and pain. You are doing the best you can--better than that, even--and all of us appreciate you.

The heartbreak in Dave's voiceover description, while Mark and the other manager (who's name I've forgotten) were fearlessly working, was simultaneously magnificent and mournful.

I do local cat rescue. A few days back I was given two neonates (4 days at most.) One didn't make it. I spent 24 hours desperately trying to nurse her along, slept sitting upright with them cuddled in my shirt so feedings were quicker. But I could tell, the moment they handed her to me and it still ripped my heart out. Which is my way of saying I feel you.

Like you said, it's part of the job, kinda the worst part. I try to remember that in the last year I've had 25 kittens pass through my hands and I've lost 5 (three were fading from the birth). And we've taken 5 queens out if the reproduction cycle. Every little bit helps.

Thank you Again to all the VMF Staff & Volunteers, you make such a Huge difference in so many monkeys lives!!! In was sorry to see the little one who didn't make it, I agree with Dave that it is heartbreaking to see and know that something might have been able to have been done. Unfortunately not everyone sees the World the same🥲.However the monkeys you have helped live a much better life with you all in it!♥️♥️♥️ The Samango monkeys are so cute, and mellow (compared to the Vervets, lol). I could understand how people might think they are "cute & cuddly and I'd love to have one to love" BUT they are seen here in a safe, "controlled " environment. THEY ARE STILL WILD ANIMALS and should never be kept as pets..... people thinking that is why some of these monkeys are Not with their families!!! Just remember people that these are Not pets at the VMF, they are rescued monkeys!!!♥️ 🙏🤗🤗Blessings and Hugs to you all from Maine USA
