I’ve said this before… when Sam plays that beat to hell cigar box guitar there are old southern black men in their graves, nodding their heads and moving their feet. She has tapped into something that is primal. I have a o much respect for her and the band.

@@superblondeDotOrg Because of the sound(s). And the music. When someone tries to describe music using words, you can't take it literally, especially when he/she is trying to be brief. There is a tradition which has very much to do with afro-american men and what I think he's saying is that they would really dig Samantha. I would agree. And that she is keeping that tradition alive but also giving it something new, which is her.

How does Samantha Fish get those bluesy sounds out of that four-string cigar box guitar? I don’t think any other musician can pull that off. Whenever she plays and sings, there is a legion of old black blues men from places like Georgia, Alabama, Texas and Mississippi who are smiling down from heaven. If Samantha Fish gets into a duet with George Thorogood, that will be one for the ages.
