If you haven't already, check out Barry Gibb's work with Barbara Streisand. He wrote/co-wrote the songs for her album Guilty, which he also co-produced. A couple hits were Guilty and Woman in Love.

It was a 1978 hit for Aussie girl Samantha Sang. Barry and Robin wrote the song and Barry produced and provided all the backing vocals.

She sounds like she belongs in the Bee Gee’s group. I was 17 and in 11th grade when this song was released in 1978.

her voice blends in so well with the bee Gee's singing voices that she may as well have joined the group, sometimes I have a heard time seperating her voice from them, in fact for the longest time, I thought it was just the Bee Gees alone singing this song.

This is a typical Gibb-Galuten-Richardson production. My favorite arrangement especially how funky the rhodes are played on the "goodnight" parts.

The Bee Gees offered her this song to record. How lucky was that? It was a big hit in 1978. This song is on Their Greatest Hits album in 2001. Barry and Robin trade off on the lead. I prefer the Bee Gees version but Samantha Sang did it beautifully as well. The Bee Gees have so many songs in their vast catalog. Great reaction Harri.

This fantastic reaction was a great accompaniment to an afternoon coffee break. The Gibbs considered themselves songwriters first, and established themselves as hit makers with songs like this and so many others. Please react to THIS IS WHERE I CAME IN official video. It’s the title of the final studio album before Maurice died, and is full of autobiographical tidbits. The video shows their humor and personalities, while the song is so good that my young adult son said he downloaded it to a playlist.

I enjoy your channel so much. Love when you react to BeeGees. Don’t forget the oldest of the kids was a sister named Lesley, who sang in Robins place for about a year. She went out on tour with Barry and Maurice, when Robin decided to try it alone; in the late 1960s. More talent in one family than one can imagine. All 5 kids were so good. If you want to hear a perfect love song, listen to the BeeGees “The Only Love. As a matter of fact, we all should watch you react to it.

There's a song, called 'Bury Me Down By The River', out of the album 'Cucumber Castle'. So beautiful sung by Barry! Was also a hit for P.P. Arnold, another woman which was presented by a track of the bros. Gibb. In 1967, 'Morning Of My Life', was a hit for Esther Ofarim, a song, often played live on her concerts all over the years.

The best version of this song belongs to Samantha, but give it, the Bee Gees version is cool in a different way. Samantha's album "Emotion" has some other gems on it. "Change of Heart" (written by Eric Carmen), "When Love is Gone", "I Don't Wanna Go" (written in part by Carole Bayer Sager) and the follow up single "You Keep Me Dancing" which peaked at # 8 on the Dance Charts back in the day. Sadly, I never did understand why Sang did not have many other future music offerings after her big success with "Emotion." Would have been so cool to see/hear her perform with Barry Gibb/Bee Gees on stage. They harmonized well. I remember her once saying in an interview that she was often thought of as the female Bee Gee. She has the vocal pipes for sure. Great reaction, and rightly so. Peace.

This original version is the one I heard first, so Destiny's Child's cover never really did much for me, too much ninetiies-ish melisma. And I always have to say when I see this video, that seventies lip gloss! It looks like she got in an argument with an oil slick.

That much lip-gloss should be illegal, lololol!! She has a certain un- i mean appeal. Great song of course. Didn't quite make it to her eyes, kept bumping into her nose. I'm going to hell. No sweat...or lots, but ok.
@SWLinPHX2 жыл бұрын
Love the song, but the video is cringe-worthy. I can't say I agree that she's a "looker" as she has an oddly manly facial structure (sorry, I know that seems mean). Also, the cheesy effects (new for that generation then) and the fact that her voice is the whispering part and Barry's is the lead and yet he is not shown when his voice is the prominent one. She should be just fading in to be shown during her breathy parts. This was definitely not ready for MTV -- not even bad MTV videos were that bad. 1970's era videos were strange either promotional clips or live performances on Midnight Special, etc.
