We don't know if he can't touch it. He was merely trying not to get hit with it as it could wound him just like it does Joe when he's hit with it. The movie tells you it applies to both of them and Joe even tells his brother to finish it after he loses to him, meaning it can kill him too. I don't think it has anything to do with not being able to touch it. Joe caught it so easy because Cyrus is human while he's superhuman. Catching it with another superpowered person wielding it would've been harder. Or at least that's how I see it all.

@@PapaBear816 Hmmm, I've watched the movie enough times to remember the fight vividly, but to humor you I went and watched the fight scene. And what I said still stands. Joe reacts the same way as he did when Cyrus fought him with the hammer. The movie even tells you it's the one weapon that can kill either of the brothers. Samaritan was obviously more skilled at fighting than Joe. That's clearly shown. He's smart enough to not get hit with the hammer like Joe does and could've killed him but chose not to. You saying he can touch the head of the hammer cannot be proven just because he avoids getting hit with it like a smart person would and uses it against Joe better than him. There's no reason to try an catch a weapon that can injure wielded by someone as strong as you. That's dumb and puts you at a disadvantage in a fight. He was smart and disarmed him before using it against him. Against Cyrus a human with no powers, catch the harmer would've easy. You have no real evidence backing your statement just speculation on him not touching the head of the hammer like Joe didn't just catch it to look badass in that scene and show the connection between the two. So, yeah I stand by what I said. Thank you very much. And I don't know what the hell calling me a jellyfish is supposed to symbolize, but it feels like an insult so real mature there. 😑😑😑 Later.

I enjoyed this movie - but I don't think anyone in Hollywood will pick up on the thing that actually made it good, because it wasn't the "twist" that we all saw coming. It's the fact that it focuses on the kid, and how he grows as a person because of his interactions with Joe. That's the kind of thing that makes superhero stories relatable.

With you 100% there. Couple of points in the movie you're like "Samaritan is the quintessential good guy. He wouldn't have fallen this far so it has to be Nemesis" so the movie morphs from "what is the twist" to "how do they reveal it to the other characters" and it was done epically!

@Commanderziff

Dude, they tell you in the first couple of minutes. The only reason to have two characters who are twins, is so that they can be misidentified. It was kinda pointless, since the twin thing didn't even really come up until seconds before the 'official' reveal. It felt like there should be a scene where the kid gets ahold of some old photograph of The Samaritan and goes: "See! It IS him!" The opening narration seems to exist purely to immediately ruin the twist for anyone who's paying attention.

He actually did kill at least one guy in that Homeless Camp/Alleyway. Remember when he grabbed the guy's gun, took it apart, then stabbed him in the chest with it. It was pretty easy to tell in the first act that he was Nemesis, but it was still a really enjoyable movie “I’m not Samaritan” … “you got the wrong guy” … “I’m not him” … “Samaritan died” Literally telling you over and over who he ~wasn’t~ without technically saying who he *was* I think that the turning point for Nemesis was when he lost the ability to battle his brother… he didn’t let go and let him fall, he expected to pull him back up so they could continue their saga well into the future… except that handhold gave way and with it, Nemesis lost ~his~ nemesis… Samaritan was the Yang to his Yin Having his opposite actually die I think forced him to achieve his own sense of balance. He went from the destroyer to someone that restores Samaritan’s helmet wasn’t kept as a trophy or showcase the injuries dished out by Nemesis, he had his brothers helmet as a memorial of sorts to keep him on a better path… one that is meant to avoid destruction… the kid believing in him as a person in general I think is why he became so determined to keep the kid out of trouble, so I’m glad he got rewarded with the kids continued support even after being told that he was in fact the bad guy. For all the grief and chaos he caused, the kid represented his redemption as a person I still think it’s dumb that bullets have seemingly no effect on him but a sledgehammer does… but then again the car messed him up for a minute… so I guess his skin is moderately impenetrable but brute force like a car or a sledgehammer can wreck him… don’t tell HHH; that dude LOVES his sledgehammers, hahaha

I think it was just the raw power of the hammer he'd made to kill his bro; but in the end Cyrus was just a normal human punk with delusions of being more powerful than he really was. It could hurt him; but Cyrus was too weak to REALLY hurt him.
@davidgantenbein9362
@davidgantenbein9362 9 ай бұрын
If the skin is impenetrable, bullets lose a lot of their threat. All in all, a punch or a hammer blow possesses way more force than a bullet. The danger of the bullet is that it has its force concentrated on a tiny point, hence can penetrate skin and muscles to damage blood vessels inside the body, killing you through internal bleeding or similar damage. But if his skin is hard enough to stop a bullet, the bullets would only be like maybe normal punches. Not enough to threaten bones to break and so a pretty minor threat. Given the car also didn’t leave any open wounds, I guess his skin and muscles combined are dense and hard enough to stop bullets, but he isn’t unbreakable like Superman.

@@davidgantenbein9362strikes me as a problem during the Armor period. So, the heavy plate got to the point, You couldn't pierce it with a blade. So they went to the point of using hammers and blunt axes. Couldn't penetrate the armor, but could bludgeon the body to jelly inside the armor... The bullets don't really effect him, because they're high velocity but low mass. Momentum equation, p= MV, momentum is mass times velocity. Small mass, large velocity, bulletproof flesh, minimal damage. But car, though lower velocity, is much higher mass. I'm going to fudge the numbers, but say 3.5 grams of bullet, times 3,251 fps, doesn't compare well to 2 tons (1,814,870 grams) of car times 30 mph (44 fps). Not to mention the impulse, the car stayed in contact longer than the bullets would. So car does more damage. 🙂

This movie was incredible I hope they make a second movie. Nemesis was more like an Anti Hero. He was never a villain.

The New Guys just don’t have what the 80’s crew still has. They Knew how to be men.

I love the way Sylvester delivers that line. The storyboards for this movie would be a lot of fun to look at.

Classic action movie bit, you hear like dozens of gunshots, but see only like 12 sparks of bullets missing. And they all miss, despite the fact hes standing still for a few seconds at a time. I know its a stupid thing.... but i kinda love it

They actually were hitting him, he's just bulletproof. There's a few scenes when the bullets clearly hit him and he just reacts in slight pain as if it were a BB gun.
