The whole point is that if he gives you enough doubt than he can convince you to work with him for the fear that he might be right. Especially since the only way to truly check if a person is a synth or not is to kill them and check the corpse... And until you are dead he can always claim it is possible and let that doubt and fear break you down. The wasteland and Institute make people fear that the person next to you might be a synth to ensure distrust spreads. He makes people fear that they might be a synth that could be lynched... And thus should work with him for their own mutual safety. To ensure they trust his colony in fear that the 'others' would be far less tolerant of your 'truth'. The reason is simple: the acceptance of their existence is one thing, however embracing those decisions in our escapist fantasies, that's a level of intellectual maturity that's downright hope-inspiring. We collectively no longer require black and white moral frameworks to enjoy art. I think that's pretty nifty. You seem to appreciate that as well, just as an observation of your commentary in many of your videos. That's the real reason I'm subbed to you. You look beyond the nuts and bolts of a game and go right for the heart of what the devs are putting out there for us to digest. I value that.

Far Harbor was a really well constructed DLC. I struggled mightily for a while kicking off the bloodshed events until I played it carefully by completing radiant quests while setting up some far flung Minutemen settlements using the Sim Settlement 2 mod which I highly recommend. Ultimately - the peaceful solution while sparing the High Confessor to flee was the one that felt optimal to me. Yes DiMa gets away with his horrid crime but it at least brings stability to a volatile situation with the minimum of bloodshed. I guess I’m a goody two shoes willing to forgive DiMA having come to see him as a flawed sentient being. As such I didn’t want to see him die despite his shady practices. He was trying to ensure the three factions could make a go of it in Far Harbor as a place accepting to various religions and beliefs.

I’m American, and I just want to say that definitively, The accents of the U.K triumph over ours. Your voice adds to your delivery as well!

No it doesn't it's just bias based on media, the same reason Indians accent sound so silly.

I went for the last ending on my first run because i was afraid that forcing dima to confess might put acadia at risk from the people of far habor for his own crime. Definitely appreciated the moral grey areas this dlc offered as well as the chaos you could get in to as well. If all of fallout 4 was structured in this way i think it wouldve been more appreciated in hindsight

I always enjoy wiping out all three factions on Far Harbor

I told Avery she was a synth and started telling Allen and the doctor, even had him do the DNA test. So now at least 2 people know for sure and Allen will have suspicions about her identity. And then had Dima turn himself in. Now I'm not sure what to do with the other 2 factions and kinda want to destroy everyone... 🤔

My favorute ending is when Dima confesses bit Acadia gets spared and the Nucleus is convinced to destroy itself

Children of atom but blown up soon as I had the key. Then dima and the other Abominations got destroyed so I could get that sweet +2 luck rifle. No regrets.

I 100% agree with the the combined 2 & 3 ending. The arguably evil all die, leaving the peaceful to thrive together.

I feel like it may be cold and calculating to go with that final option, but considering our character was in the military and the whole narrative is “war never changes.” That the final option is the best. In a sense, the sole survivor changed war here. Yeah, it’s messed up to play god with the synths and it kinda mirrors what the institute does, but we didn’t the end of stopping more death and actually meaning it. Not using it as a mask to gain more power.

Far Harbor...... New good settlement location, with vim soda and hermit crab. Sadly only one companion, I want Mariner become another. And the ending...... just make sure everything won't get worse is okay.

I think that DiMa is the embodiment of the phrase "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions". In his efforts to keep peace, he commits acts of evil. Like replacing Avery with a synth.

Weirdly enough, siding with Acadia is quite perfect for a science minded Institute playthrough. DiMa is a perfect example of control through manipulation, the ends justify the means in the "promise" of a better future. Perfect for my scientist playthrough. (Edit) Grammar.

TIP FOR FIRST TIME FAR HARBOR PLAYERS! If you’re at the quest where you and the mariner are about to go on a boat and captain Avery is there talking, make a hard save, talk with Avery, finish all her dialogue, and wait for her to walk away from the dock. Finish the quest and find Avery in the town, if she is not there, reload and try something else. I played vanilla with no mods because I really want to 100% this game. I really liked this dlc on console at first but the captain Avery despawn bug really took the wind out of my sails since if she is not there then the last missions involving far harbor surviving is bugged and locked off. My disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined.

telling the brotherhood about Acadia is the best ending imo

I blew up the nucleus , destroyed the town so dima could enjoy controlling nobody . But still that wasn't enough cause I went and told the institute about Dima so they put together a team and we attacked Acadia . So now everyone is gone

Some misstakes but overall wuite good Best outcome for people that don't like loose ends. Destroy the Nukleus, destroy Far Harbor, Wipe out Arcadia with your favorite faction, destroy that faction.

What I did was collect the Lauch key and not give it to either Dima or Children of Atom. I confronted Dima about murdering caption Avery and replacing her with a synth. Told Dima to turn himself in to the people of Far Harbour(which I sided with them) but I wanted to make sure Dima paid for his murder so I had him executed. Made sure to say before he got executed that Arcadia is not to blame for what happned and needs to be left alone and learn how to coexist with the synths. All the while, since I still have the Lauch code I can still go to The Nucleus and kill the children of Atom. Also made sure to convince Kasumi she is not a synth and to return home. Personally, I think I got the best ending possible.

In the wasteland almost everyone has killed someone. Dima managing to only sort of kill one person is almost impressive considering what he looks like

Replace Tectus to ensure peace across the island to get the best ending, then come back later with the Institute and take down Arcadia. Use the key in the Nucleus on your way back just for good measure. The good ending is still locked in, the Children of Atom won't be a problem, and the Institute's rogue hardware is all cleaned up.

I’ve just thought of something. Isn’t it technically possible to first, get Allen to destroy Acadia, then shut off the turbines and watch Far Harbor die and finally, end the children of atom by convincing them to get atomized? It’s the most twisted ending I could think, because you, the player, don’t even just kill everyone yourself. No. You manipulate events in such a way to cause total annihilation on the island. I’ll definitely see if this is possible in my latest play through
