The simple explanation I come to about Soulkiller is Arasaka benefits from having more engrams in the system, more skills, more specializations, more personalities, etc., perhaps to one day create engrams from scratch. As far as Dante goes, talking with Johnny suggests that getting soulkilled basically can let whoever has your engram change your personality and identity. Could be the soulkilled netrunners get "repurposed" into AI for whoever "owns" the engram, either as a remote netrunner ai or as something to delve into the Old Net with, like what Arasaka was doing with Lucy and the other kids

Something interesting about this guy, Jean-ki-ri, from Voodoo Boys, who was in contact with Shiva: in the older version of Voodoo Boys quest that was the name of Placide's right hand man. The events would play out a little differently back then, with Brigitte not being captured at all and her being the one who ordered Placide to get rid of V after they do their job (and in this version being "killed" by Voodoo Boys was mandatory, so you always had a reason to be pissed at them). After returning to Placide, he would realise that V have a biochip and decided to take them to Brigitte, but then you would have a choice to either go with Placide or take your revenge by killing him right away. In the former scenario, V would then grab Jean-ki-ri as a hostage and forced him to take them to Brigitte. She would be pissed about it, but ultimately let it go, due to how important biochip was to VB. After changes were made to this quest, Jean-ki-ri's character was simply no longer needed.

I've pointed it out on reddit before, and I'm sure you plan a larger video about the overarching conspiracy surrounding Mr. Blue Eyes, the Peralez's, and all that mind reprogramming stuff. But during the first quest with the Peralez's where you meet River, you accompany him to a market after viewing the braindance given to you by Jefferson, where you witness a dude humming to himself as he comes in and tries to assassinate Mayor Rhine. When you go to the market to talk to the guy's former employer, she mentions the guy had delusions that Rhine/Holt were out to get him personally, and that he thought the mayor had addressed him directly through the television. Been a while since I last played, but I seem to remember that he suffered headaches and nausea as well, which makes me wonder if the whole conspiracy could be tied back to that part of the quest, which leads us to wonder just how far reaching the reconditioning conspiracy really reaches.

It's gonna be a mammoth of a video due to all the larger and smaller quests which tie into it. But yes, I need to look again into the death of mayor Rhine. Presumably it was done to get Jefferson into office for nightcorp to control more. Hopefully there's an obscure shard pointing to that back in the quest or something as well. Though that song detail is also pretty good evidence so thanks!

Both Michiko or Hanako make sense of having an affair with they bodyguards I mean Michiko is canon lore that she have a relationship with Smasher in the past And the way Oda sounds so preoccupied for Hanako safety during the parade He attacks V but I'm sure that Oda is willing to Kill Takemura for Hanako This is probably also the education the Arasaka soldiers have When you climb the ladder all the way up to be able to protect the Emperor family your personal superior your boss becomes all your life. Takemura seems to have some doubts about the corpo life but in the end he is Saburo Arasaka dog All he does is for him Even if his master is already death I have seen the joke that You can't have a relationship with Takemura in the game because the only person Takemura truly loves is His beloved Arasaka-Sama And maybe that's true He was groom from childhood to became like that Takemura says it Arasaka give him everything Education Food And a reason to live. Oda is the same, Hanako is everything to him His superior His reason to live The Love of his life Michiko probably have a similar relationship with her personal bodyguard

Michiko got married to some other guy though. I believe her relationship with her bodygaurd is just that of purely obligations and loyalty, she met him when she was 4 when her father assigned her bodyguard. By now her original bodyguard will be some actual old fart who is also missing in action with Morgan blackhand. Could be just a new replacement for all we know Smasher and her is just a teenager fling. Takemura's was purely dedication and loyalty. I'd say the majority of NCPD jobs you see scattered around the map are linked to some bigger plots/story arcs when you actually properly investigate them. That's why I love this game so much, there are so many different stories and they really paint a picture of what life in Night City would be like. And as cool as NC is to explore in-game, it would be a truly terrifying place to live in irl. For all its flaws, CP2077 has some of the best writing I've seen in any game.

I found a Soulkiller drink the other day on a body in-game. Also, they now have people cleaning up at the crash site of the Kaito shuttle. There used to be nothing there when I checked a year or two ago. So it came with one of the updates.

There is another pretty cool thing i picked up in Shiva inbox, there is someone goes by the name of “E” claiming that they have the equipments that she needed, but she need to be fast about it There is a NCPD scanner mission where you need to take out a Scav name Barry Alken, on one of the Scav in his lair there is a shard which read as follow “Guys from TT got a new drop for us, be here in an hour, once they land, no fast moves, no stupid shiet, just give them the eds -E-“ I’m like 99% positive this is the same -E- that made the offer to Shiva, pretty cool

According to another lore video I watched recently, people other than Arasaka have been able to get access to Soulkiller, or at least previous versions. In one of the supplements for the ttrpg, Spider Murphy has a copy of the Soulkiller program that she tries to use on Johnny after he gets killed during the assault on Arasaka tower, in order to create a backup to eventually "save" him. The results were... mixed. It's also what quite possibly actually happened to have Johnny's engram wind up inside Makoshi. But the short version is, we have at least one example in the lore of the setting where someone other than Arasaka had access to the Soulkiller program and could use it to store a person somewhere that wasn't Makoshi.

The North Oak part of who is living in 102 is most definitely Michiko Arasaka herself with her relationship with Adam in the first place and not Hanako Arasaka as Yorinobu was the one who actually invited his sister to the Arasaka Estate itself to sheltered and protect her , meaning Hanako was definitely living somewhere else before she was brought over to the Arasaka Estate.. Because in no ways Hanako would want to do anything with Oda other than business related things , as also she had an bodyguard back in 2020 who fell in love with her as well but paid no attention to him at all.. I feel like the Arasaka would pay no attention to their bodyguards as they are merely there to do their jobs to protect the Arasaka's

I think the romance with the bodyguard is likely Michiko because Hanako just came from Japan via the Kujira and I sincerely doubt that she would, with her convictions, just chill in a house and have sex. Michiko also stays in Night City, so the Arasaka Estate likely houses only her and Yorinobu. Hanako stays in Japan, in the primary Arasaka Estate. Fun fact: Michiko's bodyguard is Kenichi Zaburo. The Arch Nemesis of Morgan Blackhand, capable of duelling him to a draw.

The attention they paid to world-building is genuinely incredible...but I always get distracted and point my gun at some random shit and see if it gets a hole in it when I shoot it. what about the hidden car in one of the unfinished tunnels that turns out to be a stand in for something like Batman in Night City since it's set up to be just like the batcave. Out of the way, close to the city to respond to threats, really fast, looser handling to allow for drifts and pretty beefy and takes a lot of abuse as if it was meant to handle and deal with gun fights mid-drive. Plus the fully bulletproof metal front canopy that turns into a digital display with what looks like specific hud features to it that would help in location, GPS tracking and such.
