Cyberpsychosis has actually been explained by Mike Pondsmith, the creator of the Cyberpunk pen and paper RPG. He compares it to steroid abuse. It's not so much excessive cyberware that causes it, so much as a person's susceptibility to going psycho in the first place. In the RPG, this is tied to the Humanity stat, which is a combination of the character's personality, mental stability, and empathy. David was highly resistant to cyberpsychosis at the start of the series because he had a good support system, went to a good school, had good future prospects, etc. When his mother died, he found a new family, a mentor, a girlfriend, meaning he still had a very high humanity score. When his mentor died, his friends started dying, and his girlfriend started pulling away to try and handle things on her own rather than really being there for him, his humanity score dropped drastically. This coupled with his increasing amount of cyberware resulted in him losing touch with his humanity, he stopped feeling empathy, and his mind went. Cyberpsychosis isn't really it's own condition....it's mostly a lack of an ability to handle stress, extreme negative situations, and underlying mental conditions resulting in a psychotic break. The only reason it's called "Cyber"psychosis is because the individuals are chromed out which leads to a more destructive rampage and flashier headlines to drive ratings for the media.

It's a balancing mechanic that has caused so much headache because they had to try and explain it lol. Shadowrun did it much better with essence, as that is literally your souls connection to your body. (Tho both systems have the hopefully unintended side effect of portraying people who use prosthetics, or undergo full gender transition to be less sane, or more dead inside.)

The mission with all the mines is a fantastic way to level up engineering. Try and manually disarm them instead of using a quick hack. You get exp into engineering and I found that was a tougher one to level up.

How exactly did you disarm them manually? When I go near them they blow up before there's a chance for the button that disarms them to pop up

@kubaswiton9030 sneak near them and be fast aiming at the mine. I think some devices like Camra let you deactivate, and turrents still let you override them even powered off, but idk about mine. Tho if wanting fast exp for tech just blow everyone up with grenades or use the anti personal grenades.

my main way to do Flying Drugs, in recent playthroughs, is to stop just outside the base, take control of the camera behind the antenna, and then hit it with an overload. no alarms raised, and you get a unique response from Dakota for that approach

This series really is becoming a “Curating Curious Curiosities” which I’m all for! I would say that I put Dancing in the Minefield as an A rank, if only because it’s heavily implied that the Gelena Gecko V can own is the same one from the gig, since the interior of the generic (non clan-ified) nomad vehicle still has the typical Wraith iconography in its interior. Plus I’ve never gotten Dakota to offer the Gecko until after the gif has been completed.

And now with 2.0 we can see this isn't true, since you can buy it online before having even entered the badlands at all. Hell nomads start the game in a less modified version of this. It is just an *extremely* common base car modified by nomads from all over. Cheap, and easy to get parts for. Having those two properties makes it a dream for people who want to modify a vehicle, even today.

Flying Drugs has an interesting extra way of completing it. If you can get line of sight on a security camera you can hack in with a cyber deck. There is a security camera that has is right beside the antenna, and if you have it enough RAM you can overload it and complete the gig without ever setting foot in the station and needing to sneak or fight. Dakota will complement you for completing the job without needing to exert yourself.

The easiest way to do this is to get to the side closest to the tunnel that's Nash's hideout and the Calibur are in. Then just look at the tower, scan for the camera, hack in and you can overload the objective.

Quick note - in Sparring Partner, there's another reference - Real Joe is a reference to Gearless Joe from Megalo Boxing. Talented boxer who doesn't use any cybernetic enhancements, unlike the norm in his world boxing. He's basically from the badlands equivalent of their world as well.

Idk how you put all this together and the time it must take but thank you. This should be a half million or million sub channel. I’m on my 4th play through now with PL. I’m spreading PL and the DlC through my regular main story with the goal being to finish PL close to the end of the game. I’ve played 4 times and some of this is still stuff I’ve never noticed. These videos covering gigs in each district are excellent. Can’t wait for the Dogtown edition. I’ve got 2 more that haven’t unlocked yet but the gigs I’ve played have been awesome

The quest rewards (especially the XP, money, and random extra items) are all level based. So the higher level you are the more money you will get for completing them. A quest that would get you a couple hundred eddies in the early game will get you a couple thousand at the end game if you skip it early and come back later.

True, but I've also noticed the same thing with some of the pricing on dialogue options. For example, in the Russian fixer hotel gig, I had a higher price to get in than shown in the corresponding video, because I did that quest way overleveled

Benedict's car doesn't despawn after the mission. You can just park it somewhere (as long as it is not a spawn point for random vehicles like the parking lots at Sunset motel or Marty's fuel station) for you to access it later.

simplest way to do "flying drugs", hack control of a camera, switch to the one on the roof, hack the transformer box so it explodes, log out of camera, job done. Whole thing can be done from the roadside and you get a better message from Dakota. Still works as of 2.02.

It is amazing how many gigs (like Radar Love) are a *lot* harder after 2.0, where they *can and do* chase after you. Way better I find.

Flying Drugs is a fun one for sure...I use stealth until things go sideways, then GUNS BLAZING! I find it very disappointing that I can't seem to snipe the antenna from the ground...that would be a very cool move. The biggest challenge is figuring out how best to capitalize on the resources available in the area, I find. Dancing On A Minefield is fun too...the best time to approach the area is at dusk when there's enough light to see, but dark enough to easily spot the mines. Militech doesn't always chase you through the area...not sure why...maybe if you don't deactivate the mines they stay away? The Iris Tanner gig is okay...I've stealthed and quickhacked my way through the whole thing without much difficulty, although watch out for those turrets. I find it _very_ disappointing that her 'thank-you gift' is a weak-ass Achilles rifle...too bad the game doesn't level up such rewards. Why not an Epic or even a Legendary? I wonder if there was ever any thought given to Iris being a love interest for Male V. She's pretty attractive despite being annoying...nothing like a little romantic drama, but I guess you get enough of that with Panam. Trevor Brass is pretty standard...there are a couple of ways to sneak into that camp, just watch out for mines. I've never sniped the Wraiths from the roadway...maybe worth a try. Plenty of good loot here. Big Pete is indeed a bad actor, but given he's the brother of Tiny Mike, who I like for V's new best friend in the upcoming expansion, leaving Pete alive might be a good move. I thought it was very silly that you can't use that tunnel from the outside into Pete's lair. Also he has a high-level headband, which is also silly. The Sparring Partner gig is a bit of dumb game mechanics...the workers never appear except when the gig is active and it takes nothing to set them into combat against you. Taking a loss by paying for the robot is also dumb, but that's on V [you]. You really have to be motivated to dig to get all those obscure details in MIA...I'm afraid I just don't have the patience. I find it peculiar that Aldecaldo members sometimes turn up as enemies in the game...there's a whole band of them in Pacifica you can have quite a battle with. Interesting catch finding Ben in the main camp in the Nomad ending...I've only done that one a couple of times and never looked around that much during it. That connection with Dakota and the hit-job inside the city rather lowered my estimation of her...she seemed pretty stand-up, protecting her Nomad tribe, but getting involved in political assassination inside Night City with no real explanation or excuse seems sketchy to me. Radar Love is quite challenging...you really have to stretch out all your skills to negotiate it efficiently ie. without dying a lot or getting into tedious running and gunning . I never noticed that shard talking about Night City corpo employers...will have to look for it next time. Lots of good loot here. I find Goodbye Night City to be _extremely_ frustrating because despite my best efforts, I am _always_ scolded by Dakota for killing one or some of the Militech troops. Nearly as I can figure, blowing up a drone counts as a 'kill'...which is exceptionally dumb. Maybe I'm missing something...it took me a while to realize that binning a downed [but live] enemy also counts as a kill. Clearing out the big Wraith camp after rescuing Saul via stealth alone seems like it ought to be a gig...too bad Dakota doesn't assign it. Tons of great loot there too. The thing about Badlands adventures I like the best is the sound of a vehicle driving down a gravel road. It takes me back to my teenage days 50 years ago when my Dad would hire me out to one of our innumerable farmer relatives and friends to help with haying and other chores every summer.

Radar love is my favorite gig in the game, not cause of the lore necessarily, but just because it's an insane gauntlet the game has you fighting through if you decide to go loud, it's got one of the largest enemy concentrations in the game so it always feels badass to singlehandedly take down a small militech base in straight up combat (sometimes without ever even shooting a bullet)

Flying Drugs: Creep towards the compound nice and slow. On the upper floors, you can Remote Control a camera. Shift thru the different cameras until you find the one at the very top. Scan the power source, and Initiate Overload. Boom. Gig complete, and no one even knew you were there.

There's a bug in the mission where if you place a body in a container or locker it counts as being killed. Just don't put anyone in a box and it'll work.

You can finish Flying Drugs quest without even stepping in to the facility. You can hack any camera from outside and find one watching the antenna, than hack it remotely and drive off before goons understand what went on. Dakota will be impressed and compliment your way of workings smart, instead of hard.

The last mission I did was the border patrol site one. Had to infiltrate the site and exfil a buddy of a Militech dude. Can’t kill anyone and obviously stealth is the only way to finish it. Lots of crouch moving and memory wiping etc. finale saw me hack the gate controls and drive their truck out with dude in tow.

Not about the gigs but still Badlands related, plenty of the NCPD hustles in the Badlands involve Militech doing scummy things in the desert. After systematically doing all of them, soon, a couple of Militech humvees carrying two Skull level Militech goons each pull up near V and try to kill him. But since this is a buggy game, the two vehicles spawned upside down and therefore helpless when my V started headshotting them through the windows!

The Achilles should definitely be an legendary tier weapon at the least if not iconic. In terms of progression I have no use for it for by the time we get to the badlands I already have better higher tier rifles compared to it. Another time CP gives us one like it is when we fight one of the cyberpsycho over by maelstrom territory in Watson

If I remember the boxing robot quest correctly, the boxer who wants the software is a slightly past his prime professional. He likely has other sparring bots, but the software is supposed to be some kind of advanced prototype.

Flying Drugs can also be done by a sniper rifle from outside the base if you get the right range. Too far and what you need to hit doesn't exist.

I have finished Night City and Phantom Liberty, but I won't go to tue endings with my latest character. I don't want the game to end! I've gone through several endings---with Judy at the moment---and they're very pleasant. Is there an expansion coming?

It would have been great if they had gang mechanics where by me smashing every goddamn wraith I see makes others muscle in on there turf. Although I've got to be honest the mox would have the whole of night city by now because I only neck the out everyone else is dead on sight.

That's not programming language in any way shape or form (Developer is my job). If I had to take a guess? It's encrypted, you would need the decrypted to actually see what it is saying, probably a little too complicated for just a key and manually moving things around. It's not a byte encryption for sure, so probably an encryption made up by the person, which can be some of the hardest to crack.

I rescue Saul with stealth and take out the Flying Drugs antenna from afar via quickhacks. In both cases however I later go back and eliminate all the enemies -- I consider it my civic duty.
