The sellers should be made public so they can be banned after shady auctions.

@@erickorff1919 the auction house in this case should be acting as a mediator for foolishness such as this. the car was misrepresented.. ie: the seller lied. did CP ban this seller? demand they re-run the auction with a proper disclosure? nope. so why pay the premiums at a place like this when you are better off just buying off of facebook marketplace? you can get screwed for a lot less money there. same reason i buy from amazon now instead of ebay. ebay wont back anything and hold sellers accountable. but hey, if CP wants to get a name for not doing anything about scammers who use their service to rip people off, then so be it.

You did the right thing in getting rid of the Ferrari, based on the facts as described. If you didn't have the passion for the car any longer then it makes no sense to expend money or effort to make it right. The one exception to all this for me is, having seen Andrew's LS swap Ferrari, I might have wanted to duplicate that as a long-term driver. I'm not a purist when it comes to foreign cars (not a collector), so I would rather maintain an LS Ferrari that ruins than a finicky all-original Ferrari with problems just waiting to show their expensive faces. Having watched you deal with your other Ferraris, it seems clear that you base your decisions more on $$ than on personal feelings about a car, since for you, there will always be another interesting/exciting car coming down the pike.

@jamesmedina206211 ай бұрын
Using pure objectivity to an extent a problem is that these engines sound so nice even when blown. You know where things failed and the auction house needs to lean on protecting the buyer. It can do that by requiring that any car costing more than a certain amount either pay for the house to take compression test or must bring proof that one was taken somewhere else. But its the seller's choice whether to sell as 1. Gold. 2. Silver or 3. Bronze level of fitness based on compression, transmission, and oil tests. Then buyers are told whether None, Gold, Silver, or Bronze tests level was achieved.

If they are negligent or malicious to do that to you, what a simpleton can expect? They got away and will continue to do this to others. They should be held accountable to avoid this from happening again. That’s my two cents Sam… However, you did what was best for your own financial and mental health, so it is easy for us to ask you to risk with nothing to lose. #Respect and move forward!

The LS Swap is the only reasonable answer to this maintenance headache. It's far far far cheaper to maintain.

I think you made the correct decision, letting your feelings influence decision-making is normally not a good road.

How could somebody with a car like this, abuse and destroy it like that? I have seen Fox body Mustangs that have over 100,000 miles on it that are nicer than this. Sam you got balls I’ll give you that.

I have very similar sounds and symptoms from my 2015 Mustang Ecoboost. I’ve had cylinders and bearings replaced, then the entire transmission replaced. Both shops said the problem was fixed. $4000 later, it’s not fixed.

I think you did the right thing. Youve done enough of these cars to know when to cut your loses

Definitely, you were right to get rid of it, though a bit late in the process, with a rebuild engine purchased. But, with a dream car, you always tend to spend more than the car is worth because it is not all about the money then.

Really glad we got to see the story on this one at last, Sam. Sorry you got burned on it though - real shame, because it looked like a nice car (and it is a lovely colour). You did the right thing getting out of it I'm sure and pleased that you didn't lose too much money in the end. I do think the auction house should not be getting off scot-free on this one though

You made the right choice in selling. Who knows what else would break after spending money on an engine
