I loved my PRS tone for many years until I started playing with MIDI guitar & realized how much better my Fender guitars would talk to the computer You can even hear it in his side-by-side comparison here, how every note on that tele is loud, clear, and bright, while the PRS has that beautiful warmth at the lower end which just can’t trigger MIDI converters as well

Fender had the twang, prs was right behind it
@CorbCorbin10 ай бұрын
What? The Ibanez sounded closer to the Fender as far as high end. The PRS sounds like the the Fender, of the speaker still had the cover on. It’s just a darker tone. In isolation, the Fender was the obvious best tone, but for a band mix, a PRS cuts easier, if one doesn’t have an amp that pushes any midrange, or pedals to. Yet, every single one I’ve played, that wasn’t modded, get the same tones. I think they’re very good guitars, but there’s just so many I’d get before a PRS for the same money, short of them modding me my own custom built guitar, for the price of their stock line of guitars, they aren’t priced $2000+. If I’m spending that much, I’m either doing a lot of traveling to actually play guitars, before buying one, or I’m going to get a luthier to build one for me.

Yea the twang is nice but the smoothness of the PRS is really pretty, but the Ibanez just hits different than what I usually listen to.
@x7heDeviLx10 ай бұрын
I was literally gonna comment the same fender is a twangy guitar sound and I love it. May also be because it’s a tele and they are twangy even compared to other fenders I wouldn’t mind seeing this same test but with a tele a strat and a jag

Loving that twangy tone from the Fender Telecaster’s single coil!! Specially for that country lick you played! The Ibanez’ humbucker also sounds really clear, though it’s not as twangy as the Telecaster 👍

my first (electric) guitar was an Ibanez EX covered in dents, cracks, and broken parts that I had to fix. Second and third were B-stock Harley Benton's (ja60cc shell pink, fusion-t roasted maple). My 4th was a Firefly tele. Before all that I got my grandpa's fender acoustic from my uncle and somewhere in the mix my boss found an old classical guitar in his dad's garage. I own one bass, a Fender player plus Meteora I bought secondhand, and it cost me as much as all 6 of my guitars (a bit over $800). Different guitars inspire me in different ways, and I switch from one to another constantly. None go more than a few days without being played, I practice hours every day. I approached bass with a different mentality, my tequila sunrise Meteora can be any bass I desire with its two humbuckers and onboard EQ. It can even be a passive bass with the flip of a switch. Someday I'm bound to have more than one bass, I'd love a 5 string and a fretless. But my guitar collection will likely double by then. I love how vastly guitars can vary in looks, sound, and feel. I've been playing guitar for less than 6 months, and got my bass a month ago. On the flip side, I've almost a decade of formal education playing trumpet. My Bach Strat, hand-crafted in the 70s, is my one and only. I am its custodian, and will be for as long as I live. Trumpet is a very physical instrument. Its tone and feel match my natural technique and style of playing so perfectly it's like it resonates at the same frequency as my soul. Everyone approaches music, and the instruments they create it with, in their own unique ways. My approach to each type of instrument I play is entirely different. To me that's what makes the world of music so beautiful, and worthy of lifelong devotion.

So cool you guys can hear the audio differences between all the sections of the songs. I cant pick up on that. This was their first digiital recording and I remember around the time a clip of them being really excited they could jump between early demo takes and takes recoded a year later in production. I bet you're picking up on the fact that a lot of the sections of songs will have been recorded at very different times.

- Fender is way more twangy and brighter than the others, crunchy. - PRS is very smooth and balance for the tone, just right, perfect. - Ibanez is something inbetween Fender and PRS, versatile. In the end… It’s just a matter of preferences. And I chose PRS.
@TimTheEnchanter1010 ай бұрын
For this specific use here, I personally like the buttery warm sound of the PRS. Fender has the twang which is great in its place but I personally didn't like it as much here. I like Ibanez too, I own one myself, but it is too aggressive here I think
