Derek Anon I think that’s because when Atriox lost contact with his forces outside the ark a few of his commanders who are zealots thought he was killed by humanity and want revenge. Escharum seems to talk about Atriox like he’s dead “we are his will, we are his legacy” so he may want humanities blood because of the spirit of fire apparently spilling Atriox’s blood.

Still I think going to war with the UNSC was always on Atriox’s agenda. He attacked the Ark which was under the control of the UNSC and killed everyone on it. I think he did this so that no one on the ark could inform the UNSC about his plans for the Ark and not because he still hates humanity.

If he hates humans, its probably because they were the ones that defeated so many of his expendable comrades. Funny how John 117 and Atriox share a very similar background. Master chief being a kidnapped child forced into the Spartan program and going through endless campaigns without a break to serve the very military that destroyed his life and always coming back after so many comrades died in battle.

You would think Atranox would have sided with us in the destruction of the Covenant. Technically speaking our soldiers only defended themselves from his people that were sent to die by the Prophets. It's interesting he chose to wage war on us just as he did the Covenant. This is the perfect video to watch alongside playing the Halo Infinite campaign. I am learning so much about my enemy as I decimate him in Infinite. ;)

They really are a breath of fresh air when it comes to Halo’s villains. A mercenary faction formed from the systemic issues of the Covenant but one that is sadly going down a path that’s similar to the very system they broke away from.

I love the Banished. They were literally an idea for a new enemy faction I had years and years ago. The only thing that I DESPISE is the fact that a faction more powerful than the Covenant popped up out of nowhere. Other than that I have no problems with them. That was until Infinite lol

I just played Halo Wars 2 for the first time and it was fantastic. I loved Atriox and the Banished, definitely can't wait to see them in Infinite. Only issue I had was how easily The Spirit of Fire was able to push back the Banished, they should've had a few battles where Atriox had actually won.
