Halo 3 makes several human forerunner connections only thing that deviates from this are single set of terminals written by a community manager who would leave bungie and become the lead story developper at a new studio. This studio was called 343i and his name was Frank O'Connor. I mean Truth literally says "your forefathers steeles themselves for what had to be done" as firing the ring.

Frank O'Connor is wholly to blame for the retcon, guy's so emotionally unstable and childish he decanonized the existence of the UK because of Scotland irl failing to gain their independence, and later brexit. Plus you didn't include anything from CE or 2 like in the pillar of autumn 343 saying he's excited to look through all of humanity's history and all the lost time since the halos fired. Plus the Ark, then the portal to the Ark being found in Africa, where ancient humanity first rose from.

I adore how the developers made a covenant equal to almost every UNSC weapon and then some. It just adds that extra layer of thoughtfulness to every Halo game, and i feel that Halo 3 is tue embodiment of this. It still has my favorite sandbox out of any Halo game to this day. The Brute Mauler is a seriously slept on weapon even 17 years later. No one goes for the Maulers in the PVP maps, even though it's literally a shotgun and dominates. The Carbine is a BR, the Fuel Rod Gun is a Rocket Launcher. Yes i KNOW the fans already know this, but it revolutionized gameplay for me as a kid because if i had run out of sniper bullets, i could pick up a beam rifle from a dead Jackal and keep going. It genuinely made things more fun for me and made me play more aggressively because I didnt always have to focus on conserving my ammunition. Fighting the flood and run out of shotgun shells? That's fine, pick up a Mauler from a Brute-turned-Flood and keep on breaking through those lines. Did your Scorpion tank explode? Hijack a Wraith and your Marine buddy will even man the turret for you. There's just so much variety in these weapons it is literally IMPOSSIBLE to not have fun with them all. Every weapon and vehicle is viable and satisfying to use.

Frank oconner was just the community director for bungie before getting promoted to a 343 higher up, he had nothing to do with the stories of H1 - Reach and seemingly knew very little about the nuances of the halo story, he wrote the terminals about the ancient humans and forerunners. He is the one who changed humans being forerunners
