Awesome you were able to experience and document this trip. Enjoyed seeing how the insides of these vessels are laid out. Rigging lines and the way the sails are trimmed on those massive winches is wild. Definitely a different ballgame than on my 76' Cal 2-29. I'm kinda partial to the Vaudee Globe as it is nonstop. And I'm not in love with the hyper-competetive keep-up-with-the-jones polo-shirt-with-collar-turned-up crowd. AT ALL. But the technology on display was cool and it was nice of them to subsidize your trip so kudos for that! Now, when you get to Ibiza I am CERTAIN that you can .. ahem.. accomplish ... ahem... Great video Sam! What amazing experiences! Your comment on the smell reminded me of what I was told by a nuclear submariner - apparently after 60 days+ of over 100 people bottled up in there they smell pretty awful - they had visitors come to the hatch and then not want to go down inside :-)!

I one that race single handedly in 88 and 89 , In my 37 foot boat carved from a 400 year old oak tree, hollowed it out myself with a knife set made from the famous blade master Yoshindo Yoshihara. Great Times.Did I mention this is complete Bull Crap......LOL

you have to be built differently to sail in those racing vessels. (confined quarters, smells as mentioned, claustrophobia, etc.)....and then of course, the danger of going overboard while out in the southern ocean or other non-friendly oceans. Terrifying.

Sam, editors are dirt cheap, you can find plenty to do it on commission alone. This allows you to focus on sailing and capturing content instead of dreading the editing and taking your valuable time and attention. Your view rate is outstanding. Several of your metrics are outstanding. With a quarter million subscribers, youre a glutton for punishment to be doing your filming and your editing. Editing for you would be a breeze. Your format/style couldnt be simpler. 250$ a month gets you Starlink to upload raw content daily from anywhere. Starlink and an editor would pay for themselves in spades. Also, Im sure Im not alone in looking forward to your brief live progress updates at sea (during crazy seas ideally) that would be easy with the Starlink.

Lot of great advice here, but I think starlink does very poorly (or doesn't work at all) when the platform is moving? I know a lot of other sailing channels initially thought it would be perfect but then were disappointed with the results. Sam should definitely take your advice and lower his personal workload re: editing, though. Although he does a really good job himself, I think he should totally just focus on filming and having experiences and just hand the footage off to someone else to edit and post.
