Hi Sami! I’m so sorry to hear that your skin isn’t showing up as you want it to and you’re considering taking Accutane again. I am a big believer that your body (skin) shows you there is still something not quite right, although test results show otherwise. I’ve been through similair problems (breakouts, acne, low energy, stomach issues - bloated) but since I learned about chinese nutrition and Qi (life energy) my body started to change and find balance. Now my skin is clear, my energylevels are constant and I have no more stomach issues. For me it was life changing. Chinese nutrition and Qi is not only about eating a certain way but knowing what to eat on what moment of the day in the season. It teaches you to really listen to what your body needs, food related or not. ‘Cause your Qi is also affected by other factors such as stress, work and movement. Its an holistic approach. Its hard to explain in a few words but if you want to learn more, feel free to reach out to me. I’ve just done a 7 week course so maybe I can help you start somewhere. Just sending you lots of love and strenght. ❤️

ALSO!! I would try doing an elimaination diet! I'm a health coach and this works for my clients but just because it's healthy food, does not mean that your body will like it. Bananas, honey, bread, eggs, etc. They can all cause acne to those who are extra sensitive

I feel you with the acne problem, my advise is to persevere without taking anything else. Mine took three years but it finally got better, by balancing life, getting plenty of sleep , eating less meat, going non dairy and eating less sugars, and hydrating plenty. Unfortunately accutane will leave your skin very sensitive forever, I took it 11 years ago and my skin can’t be exposed to sun as i used to prior taking this I have to be very careful, and I have to use special non oily creams and non foaming cleansers. Each person is different, but the less damaging medication we put in our bodies the better. Take care, I love your videos and all your workouts! They are my go to always.

I was also on Accutane struggling with hormonal and cystic acne. Accutane was the only treatment (of countless I tried) that ever helped my skin, but after the treatment it started to come back (especially during my period). I went back to the dermatologist and they gave me as they said the "topical version of accutane", an Adapalene and Benzol Peroxide Gel and it has saved my skin. Topical treatments have never worked for me but this gel works wonders, definitely recommend looking into it before fully committing to Accutane!!

It's so good to see that everyone struggles with their own thing. I've been having insomnia since I had a burnout in 2020, and I've been using medicin to sleep since then. I kind of juge myself for it, but also: I've been doing the best I can trying to figure it out how to make it good for me and how to get back to sleeping with out pills. But, for now, that's the best I can do to try to live a normal life for myself.

Sami, for the acne try laser solutions, especially the mark Syneron Candela. The laser treatment can really help you to harmonize the sebum production without taking medicine which has huge negative consequences on your body

Hi Sami! Me and my sister can both totally relate to your skin struggles, and some days are definitely harder than others, and I am so sorry you are having to deal with this! The only thing that has really helped my sister was being tested for PCOS and we discovered this is what has been causing her acne, and her irregular periods. Maybe getting tested with an ultrasound test might be helpful! Love watching your life and following you on your healthy lifestyle! Your the best!!

Hi Sami, I have also struggled with acne and I feel you about taking so much medicine, I am also very careful with what I put in my body and it took me years to decide to go on a long term medicine treatment (in my case I was prescripted with Accutane + espironolactone + topically retinol and BHA) , but now I am super happy with the results and in the end it is an organ that has to be treated as needed if not healthy, same as other illnesses.. I am sure if you have now your hormones under control Accutane will be more effective, fingers crossed! Also not sure when you took it last time, but now they usually prescript much lower doses than in the past, spreading them in time as you improve, so in the end it is more effective long term and usually there is barely side effects, at least that's how it was for me and what my derm explained 🙂 Best wishes 😘

I can relate on the skin problems, Sami! I was on so many different antibiotics and topicals all throughout high school/college and went on Accutane in college, but still struggled with skin problems. I am now 31 and went through a second round of Accutane during the beginning of the pandemic. I was so upset when the dermatologist said the only solution was taking it again and even got a second opinion (they also said the same thing). My skin has been clear ever since, but I wish I had been a little more thorough at looking at all of my options and advocating for myself prior to agreeing to do a second round (I had a lotttt of hormonal problems as well and didn't have a period for years!)

I am dying over the tortilla slaps😂 It's good to see how you balance relaxing and let go where you need to let go. I hope the Accutane does the trick for your skin. I know the feeling of judging yourself for having to do something like that. I am so into treating things in a wholesome natural way to allow the body to heal itself but I have some health issues right now that I may have to treat conventionally. It is creating so much conflict within me! I need to figure out how to make peace with it because I think being in a peaceful state is one of the most important things to give the body for healing. I really appreciate your vulnerability and your videos always uplift and inspire me❤💕 Sending love and peaceful vibes your way!💚🌿 p.s. I have noticed in your videos that you have an infrared sauna at your house- so do I! How often do you use it, how long and what are your personal reasons behind it? Mine is a full spectrum from Sunlighten.

Thank you for your vulnerability when discussing your skin. I have been there, it’s so so hard and unless people have been through it they don’t understand. I would ask your doctors about the DUTCH hormone test. It’s a urine test rather than a blood test for hormones and it’s waaay more accurate. Also don’t be afraid to switch doctors if they are no longer helping you. I’ve had to do that multiple times. Don’t give up. Accutane is so hard on the body. I’ve found beef liver which is natural vitamin A rather than the synthetic version in accutane has been really helpful for me. Sending love!

Thank you for being vulnerable about your skin struggles ❤️ have you ever heard of the brand hop & cotton? They're based in Australia and their founder Ee Ting is amazing. Their products were the only thing that healed my skin after a bacterial infection from a polluted river (which wrecked me for YEARS). Ee Ting talks about hormonal imbalance as well because she takes a very holistic approach to skincare. Couldn't recommend them enough and I think they even do remote consultations.

Babe, im sorry you’re going through this. I feel you so deeply with the whole acne situation. Please look into ayurveda, being a Pitta dosha (fire), when there’s an imbalance it shows on the sking. Call it acne, rosacea, eczema etc. Following ayurveda and cooling my body was the main thing that helped me be acne free. Removing really heating foods like coffee, chocolate, peanut butter, spicy food, eggs, and others is key. Hope this helps 🤍

It took me a good 2-3 years to clear it out, but to this day if I eat too much of those aggravating foods, I’ll get breakouts for sure. It’s not always just hormones, it’s a tendency of the pitta body so you just gotta make sure you’re always in balance. I promise you can heal naturally. Sending love!

Sami, I am experiencing the same with you along your skincare journey. I was on accutane 5 years ago and now my skin is a total shit show. Something helped me and I think will help you at least if you don’t want to get back on medication is getting monthly hydra facials. My skin cleared up the most when I did this and when you get closer to your wedding date try bi weekly! I am also thinking about getting back on Accutane but because I suffer with severe depression and my last go round with accutane almost lead me to suicide, I am not getting back on. So if you do please be weary… I am on spiralactone right now… I am two months in and my skin has not cleared up, doc said wait until after 3 months.

Hi beauty! I have been thru hell n back with my skin and only recently have I found the ultimate supplant protocol for my hormones and skin. My skin is finally healed to look like it did before. Myo/D-Chiro Inositol, Berberine, & Rosita Raw Cod Liver Oil. This has absolutely changed my life. You already eat clean so it’s good. Avoid all refined oils like canola, sunflower, cottonseed, soy. And cut down your nut/nut butter intake. High in PUFA and imbalances our estrogen and makes us breakout. This has made a worlds difference for me.

Have you considered doing a gastroscopy? Sometimes, for example, helicobacter or other bacteria cause acne. You won't see it in the test results, and neither can your intestines. My case. The health of the intestines and gut often shows up on the face. It takes three minutes (the test) and sometimes explains a lot ...

As someone who has suffered with acne my entire life, took Accutane growing up, had unbalanced hormones & ALWAYS had problems with conventional pasteurized dairy milk and/or any other pasteurized dairy products & whey proteins upsetting my stomach / gut - I've had to do so much trial & error well into my 30's. Some things I've learned regarding hormones: We're supposed to be soaking or sprouting nuts *prior* to consumption (like the night before) & nuts could be a possible culprit to your unbalanced hormones. Also, not every nut butter company soaks their nuts prior to making them. And anything with soy would throw my skin into a frenzy & I'd get painful cystic acne under my neck / jaw / under chin. Soy was an absolute NO GO for me. I don't know what your full diet consists of but it's possible nuts & soy could be possible culprits? Also TMI, but I stopped wearing tampons & switched over to period panties (best thing ever btw!!) as tampons disrupts hormones. Also, I started drinking raw milk & NOT the store bought conventional pasteurized milk ( couldn't stomach it for 8 years as it made me so sick!). I've also tried every nut milk out there but ultimately quit those as I learned they weren't as healthy as they were portrayed (unless you're making them from scratch). Also, apparently when they pasteurize conventional milk...it kills all the enzymes necessary for your body to break it down, which can cause many issues including acne! It lead me down the rabbit hole to learning about raw milk. Raw milk at the Amish market has changed my life. No more stomach problems. No breakouts. My skin has become clear! It has been very hydrating & nourishing for me personally plus I was also able to put on weight, which I NEEDED! Another thing for me, was cutting out ALL coffee / caffeine as it was main culprit for wreaking havoc on my hormones. And I was listening to another holistic coach (can't remember her name atm) who claimed that drinking 1 large cup of hot lemon water, then doing a little exercise, then drinking another large cup of hot lemon will balance your hormones in a month. Don't know the validity to that claim but I have been incorporating 3 liters of infused water with lemon & strawberries everyday along with everything combined & consistency and honestly, it's the best my skin has ever looked & keeping my hormones in check. I hope this sheds some insight and best of luck on your journey, Sami!

Did you ever have a PATCH test? If you are planning on doing Accutane, do it months before your wedding. You know that monthly you have to have lab work as well as an HCG test. You don't want to do this close to your wedding in the event that you have side effects.

Dear Sami, I feel you! I've been trying to cure my cystic acne naturally for so long, but I'm at a point where my mental health is really really suffering and I had to admit to myself that I just can't do this anymore.. It's so hard to try over and over again, but somehow it always comes back. So I'm actually considering going on the pill again, because mentally I simply need a break from all of this... Accutane never works long term. I saw so many people go on it but also get side effects such hormonal imbalances and autoimmunity. 👀It drys out all your glands. I also had cystic acne but it went away with diet for me and I don’t eat animal products because there are too many estrogen in meat/eggs even if it is organic. I get omegas from chia seed and flax seeds instead of eggs. I hope Sami finds something besides taking accutane again
