An advice from a fellow Hog main, the one-shot hook combo is, in theory, simple, and all about crosshair placement. Hop into the practice range and learn the simple algorithm of hooking, walking up for half a second, aiming somewhere at the neck and then shooting. Different targets require different crosshair placement, especially the harder ones like Mei and Lucio, but you'll figure it out soon enough. Also, meleeing after any hook is good, so you should always be doing that (although I see you already are, wp)

@@grundlefairy its true though, from my experience as a fairly new OW player, in the lower ranks(where I'm still at) healers tend to run off and try get kills tanks just stand there taking damage(they rely on heals too much, no natural cover) dps tend to target whomever they see.

Dude I went from bronze to plat and just reached plat last season. This season has been so bad to me bro, I have literally gotten placed 2750 and climbed in the opposite direction back to 2500s... Hopefully it's just unlucky lose streaks and not me being trash 😭 plat makes question myself it's so hard to get out of bro...

@@Cybrtronlazr being woried about where you are sr wise will get you no where hard truth about ranked is you will stay at the sr you deserve. So being woried about dropping to gold when youre a consitent plat player won't be a problem if you play like a plat player. Remember prioritize learning how to be consistent like sam said rather then being worried about winning and losing. Trust me this mindset works amazing it worked for me. I went from a 2000 player to a 3400 with this mindset

In all the ranks below masters where u can 3-6 stack i think it helps alot to climb. Solo queing is 50-50 most days unless you're great at comms and organising plays

Joey is bronze because when you play one or two ranks above where your placed the game gives you worse MMR teammates to see if you can carry. Its the Elo h&// we always talk about. If your not three or four ranks better than where your placed its extremely hard to get out.

I finally learned (or started leaning) the game last year. 2015sr on tank start of s25(went from 2015-1900, to 2480 by the end of the season), and finally made plat, 2 games into s26. But. As someone who was 1100, and is now 2600... one of the biggest mistakes I see, especially on hog, is his vape. Bronze-gold, and even sometimes in plat, they either hold off on vaping too long because they're thinking "I need to give my support ult charge!"... or they panic vape at the first sign of damage. Learning to curb those habits, and I'm still working on it, has helped drastically. Between watching tons of gm streams, and coaching videos... and I completely attribute gaining Sr TO this... I can now track certain ults and call them out (unfortunately it's me calling it out quite actually like 3 seconds before it happens so no one in my low rank has enough time to reaSam! Very debatable. I dropped out of gold for dps and into bronze. Yes teammates are bad but if you play a well and consistent game you can carry games easily. I’m currently high plat/low diamond dps after just a few months of just working on mechanics and my game sense.

Like I said before. I got the game in season 20. Dropped out of gold to bronze in a season and a half. By the end of the season I was silver and the next gold. This majority of solo queuing too! I ended up doing a lot of duos/trios and climbed to plat. Currently sitting at 3100-3200 with a mixed bag of solo and duos/trios and the occasional 6 stack with friends. Yes it’s going to be hard especially when you’re not getting the support for it. Learn to play characters that don’t need much support /tracer, doom, and reaper (reapers a good one low SR plus easier to learn than the others and he’s good right now). But hey if you want to play anyone else, win your duals against other DPS, position better, and I guarantee you, you will climb. Mechanically or not. Just think don’t die like you’re in a team death match and you can do it.

Yes, you can learn from wins, but it could also just be a cherry-picked game and not par for the course. CLOSE games are those in which the player has the most influence over the outcome (whatever it may be). It's good Samito pointed out what this player did wrong - primarily just poor decision-making on target priority, also CD management. Just because something works one time doesn't mean it will work every time or was a good play.

I know this is 2 months old, i got to diamond with zarya and hog like a year ago, one thing im learning from a bronze game is i need to take my time with hooks. I would hit a good amount of hooks. Its just when i needed to hit those important hooks i wouldnt take my time. Its almost like a switched hit me. But then i 1 tricked zarya and got close to masters then got bored after tilting lmao

Legit everything I saw there that said bronze in that first fight (until they capped) was lack of mechanical skill (missed hooks, right clicks when he should be left clicking, reloading at wrong times, ect.). Game sense there was fine for his situation.

@@binzelgames6926 If you understand why you're stuck, then that means you know you deserve it but can fix it. Also how would anyone know the answer to your question? If you're playing extremely well but hardstuck, one big thing is potentially not playing comp enough. As Alexander said, your placements tend to put you within 100 sr of where you left off. Also inconsistent playtime fosters stagnation. If you're playing a lot and still that sr, something is more seriously wrong. Post a replay code if you want some community feedback. Otherwise pretty sure you'll have to pay for a Samito review.
