Wing Foiling 25 miles (40KM) around the Island I live on, Hayling Island. It was so much fun riding in a variety of conditions, catching waves, going under a bridge and navigating around mud banks down tight channels.

Silly question, but where do those "kudo" things come from? Have you always said "kudo"? Is it Asian? African? South American? In Europe I never came across a "kudo"... Or is it a cuddle?

Man, that's awesome. There's an island here, not as big around as this (I've SUP'd it, about 6.5 miles without tacking/jibing), and I've been wanting to foil around it for some time.

First video where I thought 'Ah now I see a good application of a wing vs a kite.' You can't go under bridges with a kite. Also, the take off points for kites limit where you can start and finish safely vs a wing. Plus with a foilboard this is a great combo. You don't need a big kite with an efficient board. What else am I missing?

feel for you with the gopro, I never use those clips anymore, Just bolt things straight onto the top of the pole, never have that issue, one less thing to go wrong great vid all the same nice one

Great video. Just started foiling behind a rib. Going to get a big manta foil like yours. What’s your weight? I’m 100kg and foil ok at 7-10kts on h2 but not sure it’s big enough for surf.

The front wing needs a certain amount of speed to produce enough lift to carry your weight. Or it will stall, just like an airplane. I think pumping it makes the wing travel longer distance as it sines trough the water, and thus increases the speed the water is flowing over it? I'm not sure many riders know exactly why this works, it just does.. 😂

the pumping increases the flow of water over the wing which increases the lift so you can keep flying

You are letting off the weight allowing the wing to go up by bending legs, then you flatten the wing and straighten your legs moving your CG up and pumping energy in. Then you ride down converting the gravitational potential into kinetic energy.
