This has always been my favorite VH song, or at least tied with "Humans Being." The opening lick and guitar tone convey such a manic energy, dropping down to a pretty minimalist rhythm during the lyrics. The tie into the "5150" tagline they adopted for the police code, but Sammy instead uses the numeric value itself to describe an imbalanced relationship. The outro harmony vocals repeating "I'll meet you half the way" in that high register. It's just musical mastery and they did it on their very first album together. I've always wondered why they didn't try to release it for airplay (maybe they did?). I'm so pumped to see this performed live on tour!

Jason has that heavy and precise thud that made me love Alex's drumming. I may be speaking mostly for me, but what I loved about Alex's drumming was what I call a heavier version of Keith Moon's more is more style. I loved the tuned sound of explosive lower mid-range and powerful kick bass sounds that elevated everything. Plus, the apple sure didn't fall far from the tree either so his playing is always a homage to his dad's style too. Excellent!

Too damn bad Alex won't join in. This isn't a money grab. It's a celebration of EVH's work. Seriously, I don't think Eddie would mind. If he couldn't be there then who better than his brother to carry the torch?

What inspired choice to ask Satriani to play with the band. You can get 1 million guys who could play the song sound kind of like Van Halen but he’s still himself while making sure that Eddie songs still sounds like Eddie. Have to try to make one of their shows this year. Sounds amazing …. Especially at their ages.

Gotta love the fact that sammy is tossing beers off the stage 😂. This is the perfect group for another van halen tour, so high energy!!!

Hopefully they release a concert blu ray of this tour to catch lightning in a bottle, but I won’t hold my breath. This is a great sounding band Sammy and Mike put together! They sound much tighter than the VH reunion tour back in 2004 I attended. The night I saw them in Minneapolis was actually painful to watch and unfortunately Ed was not at his best. Concert tickets 🎟️ for that show weren’t cheap and we left disappointed.

Hagar gotta be one of the only dudes from that era than can still sing...and at 76 years old! Impressive tbh.

Satriani is truly from another world. I really want to see this tour. I sure do miss EVH, but at least someone is out there honoring his memory.
