Oh how I loved Sammy Terry. We couldn't wait for Friday night.

It was at least 10 yrs ago and I was delivering mail to an assisted living community and even though I watched most every Friday I didn't know the friendly, 'spirited' man I was speaking to was THE Sammy Terry. What a nice guy.

When I was a kid, I'd watch this but make my dad stay up and watch it with me! In retrospect, I'm sure all he wanted to do was go to bed, but he was a good sport and stayed with me until it was over. Thanks Dad!

Good old Bob. He lived across the street from me when I was growing up and he was doing the shows. He was such a nice man. My friend and I visited him a week before he passed away. :(

I'm sorry he is not here anymore ,but his son is continuing his legacy and he is great! I'm from Oregon and love the idea that he is the longest running horror host! Bob Wilkins was my favorite where I grew up ,but since he died,I now have Sammy Terry to enjoy and his sinister, but lovable creatures to enjoy!

He cut my buddy's head off at a live appearance at my local movie theater in Connersville in 1983. Pretty thrilling for 13 year old me. He terrified me when I was little and my older sisters would watch! -he did some stage magic, in case that wasn't apparent

I was an 80's and 90's growing up, but every once in a while Sammy Tarry would pop up on TV and it was always an amazing show, no matter how bad the movie was.I didn't know Terry was still going on until just a few weeks ago and I just had to subscribe to the channel. I was really happy to meet the Ghoulish Gentleman Last Weekend at a Drive-In theater with my wife. We had so a good time!

Sammy was the MC for a Halloween night concert with Blue Oyster Cult, Styx and a band called Starz at Market Square arena in the early 80's. He was awesome!!

I was there in 1976. It was amazing to see the crowd interact when he appeared on stage between bands to entertain the crowd. All the teens and the 20's crowd had watched him on TV when they were growing up as kids. It was a total freak show with costumes, acid and lasers everywhere. The day after the show, I went to a local head shop called Karma and asked the cashier if I could have the large, heavy stock BOC concert poster hanging in the window. She said, "No". I pointed out that the concert was last night and she said, "Hmmm... Yeah... go ahead and take it". Poster: llamamusic.com/concerts/BOC_Poster_19761031.JPG One of the best concerts I've seen and a favorite poster in my collection.

as a kid in the early 60's this was my favorite friday night program. mr carter was a true artist and legend. i was sad when he passed knowing i would never see sammy again. but his son took up the torch his father lit and continued to honor the sammy character. i couldn't decide which one i liked better. i loved this character so much i bought a little yorkie and named him sammy terry....which reminds me, i wonder what the little pickle is up too.....he's to quiet. bring sammy back he is timeless.........

Growing up me & my friends couldn't wait for Friday night monster fest with Sammy Terry! Our parents took turns having the kids over each week fixing popcorn, koolaid, chips & other snacks then sacking out on the floor when it was over, good old fashioned fun. Fond, fond memories.

This man is a legend and his Sammy Terry character is perhaps the greatest horror host of all time. We didn't have his show where I grew up. I fully intend on paying tribute to him when I revive my horror host show and start doing features instead of shorts. It will be a subtle reference when I first appear onscreen in every episode, but Sammy Terry fans will get it.

Sammy Terry's make-up was very similar to the extreme make-up required in the earliest years of TV (1920s-1940s): pale green with purple contouring around the eyes, on the cheeks, and lining the brows & creases, creating a skull-like effect.
