This cat is an excellent storyteller. And we're lucky to still have him around to tell us what a true mafioso is. Of course, I remember it! It was awesome. I used to watch it with my family weekly around 8:00 PM on NBC, around 1981 I believe. This show introduced me to the entire early history of organized crime in New York City. I became an avid reader and student of the subject afterward. It was the first time that I heard the names of the architects of the mafia and the syndicate. Gangsters such as Lucky Luciano, Meyer Lansky, Benny Siegal, Arnold Rothstein, Joe Masseria, Vito Genovese, Salvatore Maranzano, Dutch Schultz, Joe Adonis, Legs Diamond, Vincent Coll, Albert Anastasia, Lepke Buchalter, Gurrah Shapiro, and Murder Incorporated. Other than The Godfather, this show was the most important influence on my being a student on the subject.

"Real tough guy, got out of prison. Really, a great guy. He robbed this one guy..." Lmao, the way this sentence is put together is pretty hilarious 🤣😭🤣 Those things generally don't go together, but I'll take your word for it. This statement proves either one of two things. Either A, Mafia dudes are just like anyone else, and have regular lives and do good guy shit all the time. They may be a Mafia member/hitman, but they do regular everyday shit to take care of friends and family, and outside of their business life, they can be respectful, caring, solid individuals that aren't necessarily bad people at heart, just born into a bad situation. Or B, it means that you never really know somebody, and even somebody who appears to be a family man who does everything right, can turn out to be a monster, a criminal who takes the lives of other people, but is able to keep it on the down-low, so they can keep their good guy front on for as long as possible. I believe that both sides have truth to it, the one lesson that you can take from this no matter HOW you look at it is that folks aren't always what they say they are. Whether it's negative or positive, it ain't as hard as you might think it is to live 2 different lifestyles at once, and it happens more often than you may think if you aren't involved in anything like that. The world isn't as squeaky clean as some think that it is 🤷🏻♂️💯 So you always gotta be careful, watch your surroundings, and don't get caught lacking by somebody that you assume is a good guy. With that being said, character goes MUCH DEEPER than the surface level. Not every criminal is a bad person at heart, and not everybody with a clean record is a saint who commits no crimes... Context is EVERYTHING‼️💯 Life isn't just black and white, in fact, life tends to stay in that gray area for most of the time‼️💯 Life is all about the Gray area, and what you do and how you react when you get there. So despite what you may have been told in the past, first impressions don't mean a whole lot in general 🤷🏻♂️ In fact, I'm willing to argue that first impressions really don't mean anything when it comes to a person's character, it only defines your impression of them to YOU‼️💯 And in reality, most first impressions can't tell you anything about them as a person. But I say that to say that "good" and "bad" are very loose defining terms that people LOVE to throw around without having all the information yet, often times these accusations are thrown around with little to NO evidence to support their claims, because one interaction, or even just a handful of personal interactions can't define someone's character. Someone like Sammy the Bull was a Mafia hitman, but the way he speaks he comes across as a polite, well educated man, who articulates himself and his thoughts very well. You probably wouldn't guess that he was a Mafia hitman/murderer based off the conversation you have with him, unless he specifically told you about his mafia experience. People are so quick to judge, especially the ones with plenty of skeletons in THEIR OWN closet, just to shift blame and guilt off of themselves smh. The biggest rats/snitches generally aren't civilians, or people who had no involvement in the criminal activities/crimes 💯 Do better out here, folks 💯 GOTTA do better, fam‼️💯🤷🏻♂️

And he tells his story from point A to Z. No stutter, no breaks in the conversation. A lot of people say he's lying. How can a person that lies be straight to the point about a story. People if they are lying they begin to stutter, shaking of the voice, breaks in the conversation and he does non of that. I believe he's 💯 with his stories. He's not scared to tell the truth. So why should a man like him lie about shit?

A lot of people here will critize sammy or anyone that was in the mob and snitched. People will just have internet balls to talk here. I do know one thing. Anyone that was in the mob or is in the mob you would not go up to the MOBSTER or RAT and say to that person you're a fucken rat or you're a fucken psycho. YOU WONT DO IT. Why because you have no balls. I don't care who you are. If you lived that life as a mobster then yea I think you would go there and say all the shit you want to say. Why? Because you can and because you lived that life as a mobster. If they snitched, if they killed or did anything for the mob that was their lives. Everyone is entitled to say what you want....lol. But cmon now....who gives a fuck....lol....I'm just sayin.

Cus he did t wanna do the time, it’s that simple. They were charged with RICO, him, Gotti & Locascio. (Mobsters back then couldn’t plead guilty to some charges because some deals would force them to publicly acknowledge the existence of the mafia). So they were looking at life in prison the 3 of them.
@heatspitta2 жыл бұрын
@@809Alan u left out the part where Gotti wanted him to take the fall for bodies and shit he didn't do. Gotti was trying to snake Sammy and he snaked him first..classic example of no honor amongst thieves.
@809Alan2 жыл бұрын
@@heatspitta remember that we’re only listening to Sammy’s side of the story. I don’t believe a lot of things Sammy says because Bsxk when he did that interview with Diane Swayer in 1998 he was legit praising Gotti, calling him a gangster, etc and now 21-24 years later he’s talking bad about him. Something that maybe you don’t know is that Gravano was Gotti’s underboss after DeCicco got killed. The job of the underboss is to help run the family, supervise the captains (they had 24 crews at the time) now what Gravano would do is whenever he saw a captain or made guy that had a lot of money, legal or illegal, he would whisper at Gotti’s ear bad things about him. It happened to DB DiBernardo, and Lou DiBono Sammy got them killed to take over their businesses.
@heatspitta2 жыл бұрын
@@809Alan that's a fair assessment..but I'll say I don't feel he ratted just to rat. Also in that same interview you're talking he did alluded to how flashy and arrogant Gotti was..Also they did 11 months in the joint together..I think the distaste slowly came from there. But again 2 sides to every story right?

Being a mobster I find to be really tricky to be apart of, it looks cool and has many great perks but the cons out weigh the pros, you could be a very loyal respectful and respected man, but hear say could out weigh that and get you whacked!! The fact that you have to be a earner for the family more so than for yourself as you’re the one putting in work as they do nothing but live off reputation and collect from you is to much for me to want to be apart of
