Many years ago, I went thru the process of weight loss surgery, i chose the gastric sleeve, and had everything approved (insurance and fmla). At the same time I was accepted into nursing school and post pone my surgery for after graduation and before working as a nurse. Fast forward 2-3 years, new job, new insurance, postponed it until I have enough sick hours to cover my leave. A couple years went by and I took care of a couple patients with a history of gastric bypass and their health issues because of it. It was so bad that I changed my mind. The saddest one was one who died because of the complications and said they would chose to surgery again even though it was killing them. I lost lots of weight with proper nutrition and exercise. It is a struggle at times, food noise is real, and why do i have to eat the whole thing instead of 1 or 2 pieces?! I must have it all. I thought i was the only one. You are a beautiful lady not matter the number in the scale. As long as you feel great and healthy that’s all that matters.

Things happen for a reason I’m so glad you were able to take care of things without risking your life on the surgery. It must’ve been so sad to meet the person that died that’s how horrible it is to be fat in this world.

I tried ozempic a few years ago and it made me deathly sick. I’m on a 1400 calorie deficit that my doctor put me on. And I had an eating disorder growing up. I was so thin. Now I love food. I just need to move more, get back in the gym and change my relationship with food. I eat out a ton too. Chick-fil-a, coffee’s. I could relate to your Taco Bell & Subway days. You’re inspiring me! My doctor ultimately wants me at 150 at 5’7”. I weighed in at 218. At least I’m not back at 230 like I told you right? Thank you, Sam❤

Really enjoyed this story time/ get ready session. 🤍 It was super relatable and calming to watch. I’ve been trying to have healthier food habits and know the types of foods I should eat vs shouldn’t , etc but I think the tools to help is what I’ve been missing so thanks for the ideas and inspiration! Happy to hear your overall health is increasing too, that’s motivation to keep going, you got this 🎉

I love that you’ve done it this way! It is so much healthier in the long run. I get the surgeries and shots for people who are so over weight they can’t move their bodies. I’ve spent the last year doing the same. I lost 70 lbs (40 was pregnancy weight) in 2021. In 2022 I gained 30 back because I was using food after my brother passed away. Ive used food most of my life. I will always be a foodie, but I don’t want food to control me. I’m down 30lbs this year. I’d like to lose another 10lbs. I don’t need to be a stick. I just want to nourish and strengthen my body while healing my gut biome. I’ve found I can do this while still enjoying food. I can’t believe this but I enjoy exercising now!! I can jog 3.5 miles! Who am I? I never did sports and hated the gym for most of my life. Now it’s my happy place. You’ve done awesome. It’s a marathon not a race to reach your goal. You’ve got this!! ❤

I’m going through peri too and it sucks big time ! The weight loss is a struggle but I like what you said - choose your hard . Also, don’t have unrealistic expectations. I’m glad you’re feeling better ! That’s the most important ! And if your clothes are fitting better? - that doesn’t hurt !

Great job, Sam! I completely understand everything. I also had a consultation with a bariatric surgeon many years ago for gastric sleeve, but decided against it. I have finally lost most of the weight with semaglutide and I am not ashamed to say it. It has eliminated the food noise that I lived with my whole life. And don’t get me started on those chin hairs! I am much older than you, and I am plucking every day!

I had no idea it was called food noise lol I have your EXACT story even the abandonment issues and binge eating but, I had the gastric bypass in 2004 and have kept off the 100 pounds. I so wish I would have done it your way because I have had so many problems because I can’t absorb vitamins 🤣 can’t wait to watch you get to your goal🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤💯💯👍🙌

I’ve always a big girl. But quarantine really kicked my butt. I’m also sick since I was a kid. Flare ups leave me bed ridden. I asked my dr for help. He told me you can do this on your own. Another 80lbs and a year later I saw my primary he was upset that I wasn’t taken seriously. I was hoping for gastric bypass. My primary decided to check my labs. I ended up being borderline diabetic. I got on munjaro. I’m 135lbs down. It’s crazy. I now struggling with body dysmorphia. I don’t see the weightloss.

I had sleeve surgery 10 years ago and it saved me. It’s the best decision I ever made. I think a lot people who have issues either don’t follow what they should or they had a dr who didn’t know what they were doing. The whole water thing you mentioned is really only in the beginning, btw. It’s a great tool if you treat it the right way. Everything has a risk but it’s not cool to scare people.
@SammysMakeupCorner6 сағат бұрын
Listen, it’s major surgery and you should be scared. It’s not ok to take it lightly. I was talking about my experience and you’re taking it personally, at no point did I urge anyone it’s not ok for them. Psychology has a huge part in weightloss. No one was making a slight at you
