Island Biscuits | Traditional Cookies with a Twist
This is one of Samoa's favourite baking. Hope you'll enjoy this recipe.

White Dough Ingredients
• 4 cups of all purpose flour
• 1 cup of sugar
• 1 cup of melted butter
• 1 cup of water
Dark Flavour Dough Ingredients
• 6 cups of all purpose flour
• 1 cup of vegetable oil
• 1 cup of dark soy sauce
• 1 large onion finely chopped
• 9-10 cloves of garlic minced
• 2 1/2 cups of brown sugar
Optional colours ingredients use the same ingredients for the white dough and add 2-4 food colouring of your choice.

I've watched a ton of videos on how to make these and decided to try yours because I love your videos! Made these for my fiances grandma before she flew back home because she always talks about these and can't get them. They were a hit! Even the family who don't normally like them said they were great. They are very honest when something is not good so 10/10 will make it again ☺ This is the first Samoan baking recipe I've made that they didn't tell me to change at all so that's a big win!

Oh wow I admit that the soy sauce threw me off a bit lol cause I was thinking cookies, as in sweet shortbread biscuits. These are cool I love the colours. Your girl is adorable ☺️

I totally understand and agree Ang soy sauce is definitely an odd ingredient to someone who's nor familiar or have tasted these Samoans favourite treats compare to a traditional sweet cookie. It's more a savoury and sweet biscuit in my opinion especially with onion and garlic added too. Thank you so much. You're always kind🙏🏻💕

How long you bake them and what’s temperature Sis? Looks delicious

Hello there Cynthia. You bake them for about 20 minutes on 170° Celsius but every oven is different. You also have to turn them over during the process of nana in if that make sense. Thanks again for reaching out and for watching the videos🙏❤️
