If you don't get hit you don't need healing if you put some minor damage charms you will always one shot guys after a perfect parry and 2 shot after a parry imo for a hands on combat that is a cool build... Also nice video

This is a great video. I always have trouble with optimized builds, as it's hard to sort through the massive range of options. So these are great tips. I also love how you dressed Jin. This is very similar to the look I've finally arrived at, though your mask choices are clever, working in white to complement the black. Very stylish. I'm working through this game very slowly, finishing off all the side missions before finishing the main story. I hadn't seen the white dye on the ghost armor yet, but you better believe I'm gonna go get it. That's what death looks like when it comes for the Mongols, dressed in elegant white. I actually kinda wish the rare dyes had a little buff effect, like the white should cause 15% more terror, and the black should shield from detection at night. I think those kinds of little touches add to story immersion. It'd also be nice of a few characters besides just the dye masters commented when you wear certain dies, especially the white, since it's such a symbolic color in Japanese tradition. I love costuming my characters in games, and it's a shame none of the NPCs seem to notice when, say, Jin is dressed in death-white or shadow-black. Or just the fact that even if he's dressed like a wandering ronin, or a vagabond in his travel attire, everyone still immediately recognizes him as a samurai. I would trade variety in costumes themselves for more recognition of the costume choices I make. But I think dialog recording is one of those production bottlenecks there's really no way around. We have to appreciate the dialog range and variety we get in these kinds of games.

Try Sacai armor with Charm of Amaterasu, mizu no kami, Inari’s might, charm of silence, charm of resistance 3 and charm of resolve 2. Also make sure resolved parry technique is unlocked. This build is unstoppable and resolve build up is very quickly, I used dance of wrath every 5 seconds after I got my resolve back from parry. Plus 5 free kills from stand-off challenge.

I avoided using parry to generate resolve. Don’t wanna get hit on lethal lol 2 hits or sometimes even 1 and my Jin is dead. But I will give your build a try, probably is time to go back to good old parrying and fight with some honour lol

Sam Pham 2K Tutorials and RPG Tips that’s why charm of resistance 3 come in handy with amaterasu, when you do dance of wrath, you will kill 2-3 mongols and Amaterasu will give you health back from killing enemy plus resistance 3 reduces all dmg by major amount. It’s a very fun and worry free build.

Those same charms on the Samurai clan set can build resolve even faster, tank more hits, and get those first 5 kills in less time than you're spending doing the standoff. Gosaku can also build Resolve faster as well while getting those first five kills, albeit with a different sets of charms. The build is not bad by any means and it certainly gets the job done (I actually had the same build until I tried the other sets), but Sakai is best as a glass cannon using Inari's Might, 3 Charms of Ferocity, Amaterasu or Silence, and Mizu-no-Kami for one hit kills on virtually anything. Or, you could go the 2 Charms of Fortune and 2 Duel Destruction 2 charms with Mizu and Inari's Might. Sure, you're made of glass but it simply doesn't do Resolve building as well as the Gosaku and Samurai clan sets can. Plus, unless standoffs just never get old for you, there's no reason to use the Sakai set over the Ronin set since Ronin has other bonuses that are useful more of the time. If you spend all that time doing the standoff and then fail(which is a good possibility in the Act 3 zone where the enemy tells are smaller and the timing windows are much smaller), then you might as well just switch to the Gosaku or Samurai clan set because then the Sakai set's unique bonus is no longer applicable. Even if you are successful in the standoff, you might as well pause and switch sets afterwards since they offer more bonuses for what you're doing.

Logan Schenk might try out samurai build for this. Also with Gosaku armor, we have to switch stances every time as different enemies will challenge you. But with Sacai armor, I feel like I only need to have parry or perfect parry to kill off the enemy without worry about switching stance. Also with Amaterasu and charm of resistance 3 combined, it’s giving you a tanky side of it plus resolve 2 charm with mizu no kami could help me build up to perform a dance of wrath. My build is def not the meta/ perfect build but for someone who don’t use to switching stances every time, this build is the best, giving me both dmg and tanky sides of it. Don’t forget, Sacai armor have 20% chance of scared enemy away, there will be a mongol run away in a group of 5-6 lol.

Even with Samurai clan armor with build-in damage reduction and a ton of defensive charms I still dont feel tanky enough in Lethal mode.. Die in 2-3 hits with full health or less if not full.. Maybe I am just bad..

Great video. It looks like the only reason for the divine healing is for you to heal more for every resolve used which is useful if you get hit all the time (I know in lethal a hit takes chunks off your life, but I counter that with efficient use of ghost weapons, and try not to get hit in general). I'd would still lose that charm in favor of a resolve II charm and get more chances of recovering resolve which provides you more healing chances. I'd also swap the fortunate return charm for a charm of bludgeoning to help it further since the build requires stagger break to proc your other charms. Charm of resistance III is great btw. All in all, fun build, ngl.

Yes I think I developed a bad habit of not even parrying anymore lol there’s a way to play this game where one can win without even swinging the sword. I did the final mission run for eternal blue sky with a new build where I did the whole thing without unsheathing my katana once (outside of the duel of course). I really like this build and way to fight, I just wondered if I could swap charms of defense and fortunate return for inari shrine charms, Im doing full map clear so I will have them on max and it seems they are quite potent charms, giving health, resolve, stealth detection etc. I would also maybe swap divine healing for the charm that lets you parry easier, I still cant get perfect parry 100% and getting it more, means more resolve, more health and more dead enemies. Do you think this tweaked build would perform as good as yours?

Very smart to use the Susanoo Charm in combination with the terrify mechanics. I’d replace a couple charms with Bludgeoning and the Charm that adds extra chance to terrify though. I think that’d guarantee total battlefield control.

Use these charms for a great combo Major Charm of Ikazuchi-no-kami(perks that terrify are 25% more likely to occur) Major charm of Versatile skills(doubles the effect of minor charms if no other charm of the same kind) Then Minor Charms Utility Charm or Fortune 2(effect with % chance to occur are 50% more likely to occur) Stealth Charm of Fire Doctrine (burning enemy 15% chance to terrify) Ranged Charm of Terrifying Aim (Kill enemy with headshot 30% chance to Terrify) Then u can add either a melee or defensive charm I prefer the Defense charm of fortitude (20% chance to survive lethal damage)

This build is a lot of fun, but on Lethal mode you don't need the divine healing, resistance, or fortunate return. I've been playing enough that I almost never get hit 😂, so automatically resistance charm and healing charm don't serve much purpose. Susano charm is cool too but on Lethal most enemies die quickly so knocking them down isn't needed, I prefer to use the charm that makes dodges and perrys easier combined with the increased terrify charm. Two charm of fortune, charm of silence, and the last one is optional. Charm of fire doctrine is kind of fun to mess around with, burning enemies causes terror. Charm of silence for the big resolve gain, etc. There's lots of ways to mess around with this build!

Ah yes you are correct. And if you want to see lethal friendly builds I suggest check out either my berserk samurai or the green mist ghost builds from my Tsushima playlist. Those are lots of fun too lol

I have done that in my other ghost mist build. That approach is also something I use to start OG the bee IKI dlc. Halfway through IKI though I found a new charm thats even crazier than double poison lol
