SUMMARY - Olympus Elements: Pros: - Very affordable price (99 bucks only, which is super cheap for an orchestral lib) - Has amazing pad patches & a nice reverb module - It works on Kontakt Player (Free edition of Kontakt) - Cool sounding True Legato patches - Amazing choir FXs (Shouts, Whispers etc.) Cons: - Doesn't use round robins - Not too much dynamic nor responsive enough with MIDI CCs

Thanks for showing more in-depth usage of this library than the way SoundIron does on their channel... Just upgraded from the micro version with the current discount on the SoundIron website ($66 for the elements version)

this is the review every vst needs. Most guys just show some wow factor and leave you to frustration after you open on your daw

Hello Alex ! I have just bought the Olympus Choir Micro. The last 4 higher notes of the Divisi men patch are just awful (typically pitch shifting as its baddest quality). Is it the same for the Elements version or should I really upgrade ?

Hello, Alex! I'm looking for a new choir library to fit the needs for an upcoming project. I currently have EW Sypmphonic Choir which has bold attacks as well as thick textures. However, I'm looking for a library which offers a delicate vocal approach. Think Edward Scissorhands. Delicate ooohs and aaahs. Men, women and children. What might you suggest?

Hello, Alex! I bought this as well and even tho i haven´t used it yet i love the sound of it. I have a question tho: How could someone who isn´t very good at playing live use the keyswitches in post editing instead of doing it while he/she plays? Could i just record the choir normally with no key switches and then hit record in my DAW and record the keyswitches only, basically doing it one step at a time? Or is there some better for workflow technique you use for the keyswtiches? Also when you added the cc control for the library how did you do it and did you have to do it every single time you use it?

For your first question: I don't usually record myself by playing, so I wouldn't know. When it comes to keyswitches, I find that BRSO Articulate is the easiest way to use them btw! As for the second question: I linked the various parameters of the patches of the library to some MIDI CCs, then re-saved the patches so taht they settings stay.

In order to bring up the modulation in the piano role, do you have to browse parameters > Edit events in order for them to show up or is there an easier way?

Yeah, you kinda have to do that all the time as far as I know. But once you've drawn a curve inside a pattern, you can quickly go on the events editor directly at the bottom of the piano roll.

Not sure if I'm going to make on on Nexus since I'm not using it anymore, and wouldn't recommend it actually. When it comes to orchestral music, it sounds too much outdated in my opinion, and is not exactly inexpensive either considering the quality you get with it. As for Kontakt, literally almost all the sample libraries I use and showcase on this channel's tutorials are Kontakt libraries, so in a way, I'm already showing most of it haha.

Some libraries, like this one I'm showcasing here, can also run on the free version of Kontakt, called "Kontakt Player". Go get that one if you haven't already! ;)

I think you can use VSTs on Repear alright. But you need Kontakt to read this library!

I'm curious on what you do in FL that makes the instruments so real. They're attacks and decay. I have East West and I can't get it to sound that way. Any advice would be amazing!

In general, EastWest libraries are ok but they're quite old, so making them sound good is more difficult compared to the rest of orchestral libraries. Although, if you're using the modulation wheel, expression, and sequencing your midi like I suggest in my tutorials, you should already be getting decent results in terms of realism. If you're not, go check out the tutorials!

Hmm, I honestly don't know other choral libraries for Kontakt Player other than this one. The best ones are mostly for the full version of Kontakt.
