Thank you for the video Tobias. Very good, very informative & very well presented. I do not think I will take this upgrade. I have been using Magix products for over 10 years. At present I have Pro X5 Studio. I do not feel the small additions to 6 make the outlay worthwhile. I have managed without a dockable track editor since the days of Music Maker. The automation window looks like a good idea, yet the browser window, to me, should have been a free upgrade in 5, as good as it looks. The 2 (?) new effects are not worth the cost. The "add-on's" are all there already in 5. I agree with you that if updating from a much earlier, or lite, version, it would be a good investment. I am disappointed that Magix still do not seem to allow easy integration with other DAWs & software. I hope that at some stage you will do some tutorials on Samplitude, as a previous poster mentioned, there are not many.

Hi Drew, Many thanks for your comment! You're absolutely right, it's not a huge upgrade. I'm a big fan of Magix software but they should overthink their pricing on upgrades. One thing I do honestly not like is the constant special offers that run out on specific dates, but get renewed soon after. So people spend the money but in fact just play the regular price. I don't feel Magix needing these fake special offers. Reminds me of waves plugins and their ridiculous fake special offers... I was planning some tutorials for the future. Need to sort some other things first, but these tutorials are coming soon. :) Thanks for your feedback and support! Tobi

Thx for this great video ! But it's sad how once Magix that was so innovative is so light years behind the competition. Personally the only interresting features for me is editing while playback (that needed to be implemented way way back). I still stick to my Pro x4. Strangely Pro tools now looks like Studio One and Samplitude now like Cubase !

Thank you! Yes, there is definitely room for improvement here... I mean it is a software that covers most of what most users are ever going to need, but like you said, the devil is in the detail and Magix has to catch up a little. I still love Samplitude Pro, but Magix should overthink their pricings and overall philosophy in regards of new features, updates and bug fixes...

Hey! Cool video. Please, if you have more experience with Pro X6, could you do a video with sound examples? For instance with the volume former or the new dynamic EQ? Hi Tobias, your tutorial is very interesting. I have been using Samplitude Pro x5 Suite for two years and it seems to me a good product both in terms of stability and graphics. Unfortunately in Italy this DAW is not used by many musicians so I have not found any Tutorials in Italian that could help me. I agree with others who have commented on your video that the updates are overpriced.

Still at pro x3 here and not sure I'm gonna update. Reason is their upgrade policies regarding how many products you have from them. They offer me a deal on pro x 6 and I get soundforge 14 but I already have it. If I wait t'ill pro x7 then they will offer me soundforge 15 but there's a strong chance I will update it anyhow before pro x 7 comes out. All this means that if you ever buy the suite once, the offer is really good as a one time buy. On top of that, I find their updates really lackluster. I think it's the end of the road for me with Samplitude.

Yes it's a little expensive when you upgrade from the previous release, but if you skip some versions of pro x, or come from a cheaper samplitude version, it's good value. At least if you need and like the features it offers.

I actually learned DAW in Samplitude Pro. Magix used to lead the industry in new features with DAWs like Samplitude Pro and Sequoia. But I just don't see this DAW namely Samplitude Pro surviving another 5 years unless they redesign its dated UI and built in effect plugins into something stratospheric that can compete with Ableton Live, Cuebase and Logic. The workflow just looks clunky and outdated at this point. I own Samplitude Pro X5 and for the first time in my life I did not upgrade to Pro X6 due to the fact that they did not change or add anything revolutionary for the price. I was hoping for a UI redesign to bring Samplitude into the modern era of DAWs. I switched to Ableton Live 10 then to version 11 and have not looked back ever since. You can tell that Magix is feeling it when they offer their DAW for 75% of what Ableton or Apple charges for their DAWs.

And yes of course, you can use everything that comes with it for commercial productions and stuff. I'm running a small local business, writing tracks for local companies and their ads or product videos, sometimes using the instruments coming with pro x5 as well. They sound really good. Independence is a huge sampling plugin with tons of sounds. Then the Vita instruments are top of the notch as well. Using especially the orchestral instruments sound damn fine and very realistic to my ears.

Hey, good video, but i have a very weird problem: Since i use Pro X6 they changes something that i not gonna like at all. Example, u have Fab Q3, fab C 2 and then Fab R as pluginchain, then u want to listen to the voice without the Fab R, u deactivate that plugin (u click at the top of the plugin) via mixer, and the plugin gets disabled but putted one place up (chain is then Q3, R, C2), same when u activate it again in the mixer then its at the top before the eq and the comp. but when u click at the bottom of that plugin it stays on that place, thats hillarious, who had the idea that this would be a good feature, never had such a problem in the x5 version.... or do i miss something?

Hi there and thank you! I just tried disabling and enabling different plugins on the mixer, track editor and in the plugin browser - but the order is presereved all the time. This is weird. To change the order, I really have to drag and drop the specific plugins. I somehow have the feeling this is related to the resolution of the mixer window. Are you using a regular screen, or some kind of high-res screen resolution? I just remember that sometimes UI's have been weird on high res screens, mostly when they've been developed with regular resolutions in mind. Either way, I think what you spotted is more a bug than a feature. Cheers Tobi

Well, I am a big fan of Samplitude Pro but I have to agree that magix would do even better if they'd overthink some of their decisions. They did not do a bad job for sure and I can say that because I work with samplitude since over a decade on a daily basis. But they could do better... Anyway, it's good that some people complain in the comment section so Magix gets an idea where they can polish their products to make it even better. Cheers Tobi

The latest update is totally ridiculous both in how limited it is and how expensive it is. 249eu is only a bad joke. I wont be updating unless it drops to max half of the price. Bonjour Utilisateur de SAMPLITUDE depuis 20 ans... et oui.. j'ai suivi les mises à jour tous les 3 ans environ samplitude 8 puis 11 samplitude prox suite puis version 2 puis 3 très bien la version 6 devrait être encore plus stable mais ce n'est pas le cas... hormis des bugs d'affichage (des traits dans tous les sens entre les objets, incohérents) cette version intègre des changements qui alourdissent le travail : les objets qui sont baissés à dB disparaissent quasi de la piste, on les devine à peine bonjour la galère pour les retrouver si vous avez plus de 12 pistes... les curseurs pour gérer le niveau des objets et les fades sont devenus grossiers et manquent complètement de précision la gestion des panoramiques en automation n'est plus intégrée à la piste mais impose d'ouvrir une piste en plus qui fait qu'il faut un écran énorme pour travailler sur 4 ou 5 pistes en même temps sans compter les bugs ... la version 3 était très très stable et simple d'utilisation sur la version 6 des pistes disparaissent parfois quand vous voulez travailler sur cette fameuse piste panoramique, le logiciel plante sans prévenir parfois, .. bref plein de petits détails qui font que j'ai l'impression que cette version a été créé par des personnes qui n'ont jamais utilisé ce logiciel ou qui s'en sont servi pour des projets avec 4 ou 5 pistes mais pas plus... En studio on travaille couramment sur 30 pistes ou plus et cette version 6 n'est plus adaptée à mon goût L'impression de travailler sur une version non "finie" du logiciel alors quand au lancement du logiciel une publicité (intrusive) comme c'est le faire MAGIX me propose au bout de quelques mois d'acheter la nouvelle version 7 pour 250 € de mise à jour je ne peux pas m'empêcher de prendre mon clavier pour leur dire STOP : TERMIINEZ D'ABORD LA VERSION 6 avant de proposer à la vente une version 7 !! Acheter la version 7 de Samplitude Pro X suite (ou pas suite) c'est donner de l'argent à des personnes qui font du commerce, pas de la musique Bonne journée
