Still have this mic to this day. Best First time mic for streaming and great for doing any voice over and podcasts! I Love it!

I've had this microphone for the past 5 years. It's been one of my best purchases, I use it everyday for listening and monitoring audio from my computer, record videos, podcasts and even vocals and guitars. It is not difficult to make it sound like more expensive mics with post processing.

What sort of post processing helps? Just eq and compression? Anything else?

Used this mic for 6 years and it's never let me down! Just for any curious people, the mic tends to pic up lots of noises from the table I use when it's on its stand or mounted on with a boom arm, such as keyboard, mouse, touching table etc. It is really difficult to separate the audio from the table and my voice, so the most easy solution for me was to purchase a mic stand that goes on the floor, or attach the boom arm to a separate table. Hope this helps!

That's really an important thing to point out. Thank you so much for mentioning that. Yes, it sure helps to find a way to isolate the microphone - maybe with a table mic clamp and a shockmount.

Would it help to put it on the bed (to do video calls), swaddled with a small towel on the bottom portion to deflect noises? Tnx in advance

For mac users, it allows you to improve the audio through a program called "samson sound deck", I downloaded this program on a web page and it cost me around 7 to 10 dls, what the program contains is to enable the cancellation of noise and a great range of equalizations, quite worth it if you want to see it as an upgrade for the microphone.

I have one, and still love it. I have compared with new product, but samson meteor for it cardioid character is still worthed in 2021. Trust me, The cardioid one almost equal with blue yeti. And I no need more polar pattern because I am vlogging as single fighter :D

I think it's still the best usb mic which can be easily carried around and sounds totally fine :-)

Thanks for the review. I have this for over 3 years. It is good in that it amplifies my students' voices when I used it to record my classroom students speaking onto my laptop, but as you say, I don't use it when I teach online as a headset with a mic boom does a much better job. Also, it doesn't have noise-canceling capability that many dedicated headsets do. I like your shield to prevent the echo. I should look for one, too.

I bought one today after watching a number of KZbin reviews including yours (being the most "recent"). I'm very pleased with the look and feel and form factor. However, I could hear mobile phone buzz from head phones connected to my Meteor, which, I thought mobile phone buzz was a thing of the past. (Connecting the same headphones to my Mac directly picks up no buzz, of course.) Tried adding ferrite beads at various points. Didn't help.
