Will this work on the 7800X3D? Im currently using the default antenna which is wifi 6E and its not performing so well. Checking the status, the speed says 1.2gbs, but only getting 400-500 mbps. My brother in law just ordered a wifi 7 router and I'm wondering if this will work with my build.

@@RandomYooser No, it will not. The Intel based WiFi cards are not compatible with modern AMD systems, which this is. Usually installing this card causes BSODs on AMD. I would look for a Qualcomm based WiFi 7 PCIe card for your system.

For s moment I had forgotten about all other brands too. I was just "intel only" but my bro has an AMD Build and Qualcomm would work there then. Hopefully. Thank you

@@Helios.vfx. Yes, Qualcomm based WiFi 7 chips should work fine on AMD systems. Was that a new build for him?

i wonder if your motherboard supports uasp for usb 3.0 & turbo boost. your wifi pci card myte support uasp also which would be epic!

Hi! I looked on the MSI website and don't really see any information about UASP. I'll have to check in the BIOS out of curiosity now. I'm not sure if the card requires extra performance given the limited PCIe lane connection but it's an interesting point I hadn't even considered.

Mate, I have a off topic existencial doubt atm. What do you think? I recently changed my ISP internet. Previously wth my Wifi I used to get about 450 max transfer data with local files sharing or internet. which was kind of fine. Now, since I changed to a new ISP. this new router gives me only 250/260 mbps donload and upload 345 mbps upload. When previously it had more. That's why I've been looking up for WIfi cards for laptops 6th or 7th gen To get better download speeds. My sister came here for xmass and her laptop reached 800mbps download speed using wifi. So, should I get those wifi cards, 6 or 7 th gen or one of those dongles usb c + ethernet port cause this laptop does not have ethernet port. I think wifi is handier tho.

There's a lot of factors that go in WiFi performance, especially for laptops and mobile devices. On my I7-7700HQ laptop I have successfully installed and tested wiresless AX cards for example that provided a significant boost over the original ABGN card that came with the laptop whenever I first bought it (when the i7-7000's came out). That being said, it still possible that you might have some kind of power saving mode enabled on your laptops WiFi adapter that could be limiting performance. It's also possible that your new wireless router/access point is setup slightly differently and using different radios or chipset. It's also very difficult to compare non identical test scenarios, for example exact placement of your device and any type of RF interference that may or may not be present / random. My Internet speed, the speed I can get out to the Internet is comparatively low to my friends, I think it's only 350mbps service but my desktop connects to my access point at ~700-800mbps consistently which is what I care about since I move large files around over my local area network frequently. It's not quite gigabit speed but I can't get a cable to where my main video editing PC is so it's better than nothing. If you are comfortable with disassembling your laptop an installing a new WiFi card and can get one cheap, I say go for it, that helped me a lot.

@@STS There shouldb't be that much of a problem since the router is right behind the laptop to at max distance of 20cm. So, I don't think it should be it. But could be the new router inner setup that I wasn't able to get in with the admin and password. KInda a mess but can't be bothered atm. The I'm not sure if there's a limiting or let's say "low power mode" wifi on linux, will have to look it up. But it might not be it, cause previously a couple of hours ago before the isp folks would arrive, I was using it fully. I Found this card WAVLINK WiFi 6/7 Tarjeta inalámbrica 5400/8774Mbps Tri-Band BE200 M.2 NGFF Módulo de red con Bluetooth 5.4 Compatible con Windows 10/11 Do you think that'd be a good one or is too overkill? I also move big files to another computer and having higher speed would be handier :D

What platform are you using? Intel or AMD? I wasn't able to get this chipset to work on my Ryzen 9700X based PC. From what I've read, there's some kind of firmware or driver problem preventing this card from working on AMD PCs right now.

Yea, from my testing I was having trouble getting this to work on my Ryzen 9700X test rig. IT worked right away on this 12th gen I5 setup however. I'll update the description. Hopefully AMD is able to work out what is happening here because Intel traditionally powers a lot of wireless NICs.
