Your review is one of many that helped me decide on my Chromebook. There are a lot of good Chromebooks out there but I chose this one because of the size, the fanless ARM processor (it's actually not as slow as most people say it is) and because I'd rather use a matte screen. Thanks!

The reason why it's not as slow as reviewed is due to improvements made by Google to make Chrome squeeze more performance out of the ARM architecture - the OS itself has become more efficient, too.

i'm using a Samsung Chromebook series 3 to watch it but the 3g model and 1080p video was not a problem with 4 tabs open and google docs all in the background.

For everyone seeing these on Ebay for like $45.00 these Chromebooks DO NOT receive updates from Google anymore. One thing about Chromebooks is that after (I think 5 years) they stop receiving OS updates from Google. Not saying these don't work, but you need to be aware that they no longer are elagable for ChromeOS updates.

I've had this (XE303C12) for several years. It's taken a beating and still keeps ticking. I stream video and audio all the time and it comes out fine. Biggest complaints for me are (1) color palette is limited creating rough or stepped gradients where it should just be smooth (2) had to replace the power adapter twice and with each replacement, I've noticed that the trackpad almost becomes unusable and I'll resort to unplugging the power adapter while I use the pointer, or use an external mouse. OTHERWISE, I love this chromebook.

@CodeNet YT unfortunately you are right. I saw an alert on my chrome book about a month ago saying that updates for my model will no longer be supported. :(

@CodeNet YT lol. I have the same problem. The hinges themselves are okay, but the plastic hinge covers broke off exposing the wires that also cause my screen to flicker light red. The update is the other "issue" (not really a problem). I'm really impressed this thing is still ticking.

Think of it like that: It's a 249$ device. If you bought every component separatly,you'd pay 100$ for a 10 inch 1360 by 768 display, 100$ for a dock with a keyboard and trackpad (still cheaper than microsoft surface type cover), 20$ for 2gb ddr3 ram, 40$ for 16 sd card, 50$ for exynos 5 dual, USB3+USB2+HDMI for 20$, stereo speakers for 20$, 50$ for a 6000mah battery, 20$ for a webcam, and so on and so on. you'd pay aproximately 420$.

I'm looking into buying a Chromebook for my Birthday and I want to make certain I choose the right one. Is there a 3G ONLY model and a WIFI ONLY model? Or is it both a 3G/WiFi model in one? If they're two separate entities, please let me know. Also, the one I'm looking at is gonna' run me around $243..it's Samsung branded and I just wanted to know if that's the WiFi only model that I'm looking into. I'm on a tight budget :P also, if there are two separate Chromebooks, does anyone own the WiFi only model? If so, how's it been working out for you? Can it stream things like KZbin/Netflix without stutter or lag? If anyone can get back to me, it'd be greatly appreciated as I don't wanna' waste my money xP (I'm fairly new to the tech world) OH and which brand in general is a better choice? Acer or Samsung?

The hardware reviews are good, but he wanted to show us, that you can't run "normal" executables on Chrome OS. In the video he used a Windows executable (Linux executables have no '.exe') which are impossible to run on Linux systems anyway (without any extra tools like wine), there is no actual fanboyism, I just wanted to say, that what he did, didn't prove anything special. I hope you understand what I mean
