I just posted a video explaining a remedy for this. Having to teardown this phone is doing the most. The method i used worked like a charm for me.

This is not repair. Sloppy job on the edge. He simply removed the anthers, strips of material that had come off and got into hinge.Only because he was able to get the phone back to work -LIKE

Dude, it's a defect of samsungs design of the hinge. They redid the hinge that year and the bristles were very poorly attached, causing them to get jammed in the hinge. NO WAY to remove them and put them back or put new ones in.. WAY too much work, so what this guy did is the best thing. Though not waterresistant afterwards
