I've had both (currently got s7 edge) and there's no comparison in my opinion. The quality is much better. The haptic feedback crisp and sharp, the feel of the phone, the better clarity, screen etc etc. You know you've stepped the game up. A5 2017 is a great phone but the s7 edge is pure class. I've also had the s8 plus which I didn't like due to the fingerprint scanner and ended up just using a pin instead. Sold it and got this (s7 edge). Much better phone. The smaller bezel is nothing but a gimmick and hardly utilised by 3rd party apps. N I won't even bother mentioning Bixby. Absolute load of useless rubbish.

You make very good videos, your latest ones are of more quality in picture, and graphic animations. Really enjoy them. Yet one problem i found in this video and maybe 1-2 more recent ones was that when you show video samples of S7 edge and A5 2017, both the videos stutter on the horizontal pan which is not the real case of the original video. My guess would be that it has something to do with your editing. Might be wrong of course. Keep it up! Also regarding the two phones being compared, i think the flagship model, will win always. Maybe not the best on every aspect, but all around i think is the better choice, especially the cameras.

Yes, i don't know either why this happens. Just took a guess by saying editing. I guess KZbin works in mysterious ways. But the only thing for sure is that these phones shoot videos, that don't stutter at all during Panning.

About the phones I guess they just toned down the A5 not to eat up S7 edge sales since the Note7 was an an explosive device, literally meaning that they only had one flagship device last year.

Hi Linus, sorry i meant J5 2017, as it will be sold for €280 and more suitable for my budget 😄.. it has the same specs as the J7 anyway, only J7 is bigger.. The J series also got android 7 while A5 only 6😐... btw, is the A5 front camera quality really annoying? Im not a selfie person but having the option of decent camera is always good right? if you think we can eventually live with it, i might as well just buy it..

So I'm a bit late to the party but I wanted to chime in anyway. First off, great video. Let's move on to discussion. A5 2017, is a fantastic mid-range offering from Samsung. Though certain compromises were made, it retains premium build quality and well-rounded flagship features. Performance wise, it gets the job done, navigating menus & apps is fast and fluid. Gaming on medium to high settings on graphically intensive games works like a charm, some minor frame drops, stutter and slowdown occur from time to time but it plays games really well. Camera is a bit of a let down but the front facing 16mp is a nice addition. For a midrange phone, 3GB of RAM, coupled with a 1.9ghz Exynos is more than enough to see you through your multitasking and gaming needs. Graphics card is decent as well. The S7E is still the better phone, it's a flagship and far more well-rounded. That being said, if your budget can't shift too far from the A5's price point, I'd recommend looking up the OnePlus 3T or Samsung S6 (Still a great phone).

Linus, I don't see the sense of such comparisons. A midranger to a top shelf? Why didn't you try compare the 2016 model to 2017? Especially the cameras, as 2016 has a great one. Don't get me wrong. Camera comments in relation to S7, which has best cam on the market are OK, but going deeper doesn't make much sense.

Redskull dude.... where did you get it from? I got it from OnePlus official store. Fingerprint scanner is the best I've tested, wifi is excellent and I absolutely love this phone. The camera blows all Xiaomi 400-500 dollar phones out of the water... The software... the phone is just a lot faster than my gs7 edge....
